have any of them surfaced at all yet? i haven't heard of any yet.

the product doesn't go live until today.

Tell that to Andrew, everyone who has been listing stuff on Ebay, Walmart, Target, and everyone who busted cases on the box break forum

Do you work for Topps? I'm trying to figure out why you're such a biased *********

What did I say that's so terrible?

I merely stated a fact.

Just tweeted Topps about this, and their rep assures me they're in there.

Second wave, I'm thinking.
What is a second wave? I thought they were just released. Please edjumacate me.

Topps prints and packs out and mails the first batch of chrome. Then they go back and print more and package that and send it out.

2nd wave.

When errors are short printed - - they're caught after the first printing and corrected for the 2nd wave.
This doesn't happen anymore...
I did not think it went on anymore either. I thought this was a 80's-90's thing when there was a 100,000 cases made

There is no second wave. Dealers all over the country are sitting on mounds and mounds of BC cases right now. There is not a second wave coming.

I'm definitely missing something here. Where was the bias, and for that matter, the douchebagginess, in the post? I have nothing against calling a d-bag a d-bag, but I'm just not seeing it here. :?:

Crash does tend towards the defense of Topps, however I've never seen it be done in a douchebaggy sort of way.

Thanks, Jim.

That's the closest I've ever seen Jim come to cursing.

+1. The question is who caves first and lists them on eBay to get rid of them and kills the market? If blowout listed their whole inventory on ebay right now, it would be $200 a case, haha. They have to protect there investments by providing some sense of scarcity. Atlanta Sportscards has listed and sold around 30 cases in the past 48 hours on ebay at cost or below, how long till blowout and others file suit?

This can be said for virtually any product; however, I agree that this product was overproduced, so it's more pressing.

Should be a great time to purchase singles. There are some good autographs in the set.

Not every set is sinking like a rock on the day of release with distributors sitting on mountains of cases though ;)

At the end of the day, you have to look why the big distributors and the big boy online sellers stocked up like they did. Nobody picks up a ton of product on the wholesale side of the industry to hold it. They want to get rid of it as fast as they can for as much as they can. They thought the demand was there.

While this product is vastly better than Topps Chrome, I think the factors of it dropping are less content driven and more driven by the big boys needing to move a ton of it, and fast. There are only a few major distributors out there and they got pallets and pallets and cases and cases of this stuff. It takes up space. Space they can't afford to have taken up, or just don't have because of a huge slate of releases coming up here in late 2010 in all sports.

Again, the dumping of it isn't necessarily becasue its bad...its just that the wholesalers who bought it bought too much and need to move it NOW vs. later. Im sure they will sit on some of it though to hold for when players spike and prices fall. They just need to get rid of the hundreds of cases they have laying around to get to the point where they even have enough room to stash it.

no second waves BUT they are packaged at different locations and sometimes certain cards make it in to certain 'batches.'
in other words not even spread out...
and some of the late cases get sent to hobby local stores as distributors must have prior to release date to get into customers hands by live whereas topps hips direct to hobby stores who order from them
it happens a lot, and we see it
but sometimes good luck can run

i just went thru 5 cases with NOT 1 color auto in chrome, but next 2 had not only 2 gold and 2 blue autos each but a red ref, an orange ref, 4 gold ref & 1 sf...
it's fun that way but wish it was more evenly spread

I don't know why people are not more upset about this.

2010 Bowman Chrome
Harper will be added to the recently-announced Autographed 2010 Bowman Chrome USA BUYBACK program. Cards will be sequentially numbered with foil stamping to 100 and will also include James Taillon, Yasmani Grandal, Drew Pomeranz, Michael Choice, Christian Colon, Manny Machado and Bryce Brentz. These on-card autographs will be available via redemption.

Its safe to say close to 1000 cases have already been opened which means in a 10 card set serial numbered /100, 1,000 exist. With approximately 9,000 cases out there, 80-100 should have been pulled by now.

I have a bad feeling they're going to announce some sort of stupid wrapper redemption type nonsense to release the cards.

Toppscards twitter, which I'm sure could be out of the loop claims they are in the packs. They obviously could be wrong, but,
@toppscards All I'm saying is this happens every time a product is released and a certain card doesn't surface right away. They're in there.

Regardless of what they actually are, they shouldn't be posting on twitter to 'keep opening because they're in there!' type approach.

Unless they're wrong and they meant to say it was /10, and not /100, they're not in there.

Uh oh. I wonder how Topps is going to explain why these were clearly not inserted into the product? This is making a bad situation even worse... ::facepalm::

I thought it sounded fishy when Topps announced the Harper additions just a few short weeks ago. Then I expected they would start pouring out when the hobby direct boxes hit (ala A&G Stras). Still not a single one on the marketplace. Way too much of this stuff is being broken for NO cards to show up.

Well hopefully the casebreakers were intelligent enough not to dump their wrappers...

Can they really give away 1000 USA Buyback autos via wrapper redemption? Either way, if they said its in there, it better be in there.

They knew the product was going to be hurting so 2 weeks before release they announced "It doesn't suck as bad, we included Harper!".
