This...

I am so anxious to get this break rolling... too bad I am only going to limit myself to one spot, just until I can do a few more

Re: 2010 Bowman Chrome 1 Case--Player Draft

Well, we have about 3 and a half days to fill 170 slots or so.

Would anyone be opposed if I add more slots and cut the price to try to get more people involved?

Price shouldn't be an issue.
Markakis' break didn't have any issues filling up and it was $5.50 a slot.

I agree, especially at $5 per slot, although I'd really love to get this one filled so we don't have to cancel it altogether. The contest thread doesn't seem to have brought anyone new into the break unfortunately.

There's still plenty of time and all it takes is one big day of signups. We'll see how it goes today and consider a slight change if there is still no action, as long as that is ok with those of you who have already signed up.

Re: 2010 Bowman Chrome 1 Case--Player Draft

No issues here.
$5 a slot is just fine.
Those complaining about it should just be banned from the break.
$5 "investment" for a nice colored auto that's selling $100-$1K. Come on now.

I completely agree with you, I think it's very reasonable. There are so many solid players on the CL that you have a good chance to have a shot at a big card even if you get a pick in the 25-75 range. And the good thing about BC is that after that, you can still pick your favorite veteran player. And even if you get the very last slot and get a player you don't like, the slot was still only $4.50 or $5. Probably not the end of the world. That's what makes these breaks fun IMO...very low risk and potential for very high reward.

I thought markakis8's $6 break was reasonable too.

Re: 2010 Bowman Chrome 1 Case--Player Draft

I have a legit question here about this because I'm thinking about joining in.

Say I take a slot, right? Okay, so I take a slot number on the list that is free. I get that so far. What happens from there? Is the order randomized in some way? This is one spot where I get confused.

The other is this - do we pick cards based on our draft slots after the case is opened? Or do we pick a player name, and whatever cards are pulled of that player you get?

Thanks to anyone who can answer this, doesn't need to be the OP. I think I am going to get in, just need it dummyed down for me. ::facepalm::

After you choose a slot...let's say 30, the list is randomized, and the #'s are listed 1-200 and lets say #30 winds up in the 55th slot. So you draft at #55, you get to choose who you want after the 1st 54 selections (this is pre-break) so if you choose Derek Jeter at #55 then you get all of the Derek Jeter cards in the whole case break.

Yep, this is how it works. So basically we could pull the Derek Jeter superfractor and you would get it. If we broke the case before the draft then that slot would likely be picked as number 1 overall....so basically doing it this way gives everyone a chance at a big hit no matter what draft slot you end up with. It's one of the draws of a break like this...$5 for a slot that could turn into a monster multi-hundred dollar card.

If you have any other questions, I'm happy to answer them for you.

Re: 2010 Bowman Chrome 1 Case--Player Draft--$5 or less per Slot

This is for an entire case of 2010 Bowman Chrome - player draft style.

You are paying for a draft slot. You can buy as many as you want. Draft order will be randomized once all payments are in. The player(s) you draft, you get EVERY card of that said player pulled. That includes autos AND base cards of those players who have both.

I will post checklist in very next post.

Any hit of an undrafted player will be raffled off - this offers more chance of any hit for any participant! Wrappers will also be raffled off for Topps's wrapper redemption program.

Prices are:

$5 for the 1st slot, $4.50 for each one thereafter
SPECIAL: 20 slots for $80 ($4 for each slot thereafter)
