Is there anything left?

2010 Bowman Draft is obviously going to JUST have the 2010 Draftees along with 2009 leftovers......

There are many good prospects who have yet to have had their Bowman Chrome 1st year cards produced.

I'd be happy to email a list to Topps with the better ones if I thought they'd pay any attention to it.

a Stras chrome will drive this product. I said it before, take 12 good prospects and get them to sign, get 12 average prospects to sign and you've got your auto list. Thrown in about 10 can't miss prospects in the base checklist and you've got a hit. B Chrome is a tough one to screw up.....so how did they do it the past 2 years you may be asking lol.

Don't water down the autos and put a few good players in the base checklist and the stuff will fly on release.

Maybe I missed it or am just not aware of it but when has Topps ever had a problem selling Bowman Chrome. I can't think of a time that BC cases and boxes didn't "fly on release".

2008 and 2009 chrome. Even 2009 draft had presell issues (not a lot was ordered) and it took off because it was made to order and they loaded it up with the extra autos they had.

2008 Chrome did anything but fly off the shelves. You could get a 12 box case of this crap for like $330 in February. 2009 was a stinker when it rolled out as well. The base checklist sucks ( yes, castro was in it but there are like 5 guys in this set who will even sniff the majors) and you could go a whole case without seeing good color or even really an auto that sells for more than $15. I think this stuff hit about $400 a case around the same time.

This is what spurned the rumors they weren't making 2010 I feel.

Don't forget, Topps will be releasing a USA Baseball Box Set in the winter (presumably). To spice up BDPP, Topps may include USA players the same way Upper Deck did with SPA, Sweet Spot, Timeline, etc. Topps has already announced USA autos in Topps Chrome in September (1 per case, though, so they should be fairly scarce). So, with 2010 Draft Picks, September call-ups and USA players (could pull from the National Team, 18U & 16U Teams, so that's an additional 60 names on the checklist), could make for a nice roster...

I didn't think that any distributors had any issues with moving their minimum case allocations at above wholesale cost on 2008 or 2009 chrome. I could be wrong here, I'll go back through my numbers and double check but I know that I didn't have any issues selling the cases I had right around release.

Yeah but how many cases was it? Probably not more than 10 or 20, especially on 2009 Bowman chrome with the mixture of a poor economy, an ehh checklist and with how bad it was the previous year....and the WBCs didn't help either im sure.

The issue wasn't with the initial minimum allocations....it was with the other 80% of the product that didn't sell in the first few weeks and went out way below cost. Maybe you were smart and didn't rebuy the second wave but im sure most large distributors weren't as lucky. MY LCS had the distributor calling offering him $28 boxes of 2008 and $35 boxes of 2009 in February. He said no because he still had boxes from release in August/September on his shelves that he could barely move at cost.

You're thinking from a distributor standpoint and im thinking from an end ripper stand point. First month of release excluded...none of this crap sold as well as it could have if Topps would have done it right.

The OP meant what prospects are left to include in 2010 Bowman Chrome BB, which releases this summer.

Yeah, I'd like to see them both and Beresford, will have an auto I would think.

And hopefully he won't, at least for a while.
