Again, I dont know if it is his wife. And due to the responsibilites he has with his unit, he may not be able to respond. I'm looking into this and have been but with little success. He lives near me and I am sure that short of driving to his house and holding a vigil outside on his front steps, that I will just have to wait and see what happens.

I am heading that way this week....I will see what I can find out. Last I knew his wife was in SC while he was deployed.

Future comment: If you think you might/will be deployed it is best not to enter into Secret Santas or trades........I just saying, I struggled with this during my Army career.

My responses in these threads weren't meant to bash or disrespect anyone. I just think it sucks that things like this don't work out.

That being said, I've had friends and family in Iraq that I was still able to keep in touch with. Heck, I even have a friend in Prison who I keep in touch with electronically.

I sure hope that if anything happens where I might have a problem, or someone's mad with a deal that didn't go right, that I'll be stuck up for and guarded against. Of course, I don't know anyone here personally, so I wouldn't expect the same treatment.

Idea----
If it's worth it to do next year, a central address where everyone involved sends cards to would be the best way to go. That central person would then send to everyone on the same day, only once everything's good to go and ends are met. If by that time someone didn't send, no one loses anything, the cards just go back to the sender. Then we can yell Booo at whoever didn't send, but no one would bringing up threads from 3 months ago.

Kevin, I understand where you are coming from. Its understandable. However, I will say that due to Bruce's responsibilities, he may or may not be able to write folks. Again, I don't know what the details are as I haven't heard from him and I'm worried as he is a good friend of mine.

I am considering revamping the SS for next year with some major changes so that issues like this don't happen.

Do special forces members have normal access to the Internet and such like regular soldiers on a base?

Yes, connectivity for those deployed or preparing to deploy depends on the mission they are assigned.

With that said the tool to access the web could be spotty at best. On several occasions I could read everything on line but could send ZERO transmission out.

I think one of the underlying issues here, is that Lancemountain has had his fair share of deadbeats not sending to him over the last 5 years.. (even from when I was running the SS on Beckett)..

I know he sends stuff every year, and gets hosed most of those years as well..

Well several people PM'd me attesting to LaneyB's character and due to what George mentioned, perhaps LaneyB got deployed to parts unknown and is busy doing his job and simply can't respond. Cardboard usually comes last when family and employment is concerned so I'll let this lie down. When he comes back safe and sound, we'll go from there. Thanks though to all of those that offered help or advise via PM. There are a few very good souls around here. My intent was not to get people to give me things, just simply was frustrated by the lack of help with the staff. Blanning fixed that and I thank my other 3 SS for a great Christmas.

Pinbreaker! and elf unknown which I am sure who you are. Thank you, this kindness will not go unnoticed or reciprocated. I was literally speechless by this package and I think that speaks volumes not only for Kevin and his fellow mailbomber, but to laney's friends here.

again wow

Good Members should have nothing to feel embarrassed about, nor wait for Christmas in March. Glad FCB got around to making this right!
