I thought some of you might be interested in this. All that is known about the set is that there are 42 of them and come at a ratio of 1 per case. I wanted the Manning so I accepted the risk of overpaying and got a copy. I asked UD if they would provide the print run since they are not serial numbered. Their response:

UD said:
We likely will not as they are all very limited. We will let the market determine scarcity levels.

That's hilarious, but I guess it makes sense.

You should reply to their email and say "U R REQUIRED BY LAW TO PUT THE ODDS, ****. ANSWER PLZ"

How the market receives and reacts to them as they hit does not magically change the past and manipulate the amount that were produced. Whether they sell for a dime or a million, they have the same scarcity. :P

Those Shadow Boxes are some awesome cards though, so you'll have to scan that bad boy when you get a chance, RITM. I'd love to see it.

Unfortunately their response does not answer my question at all. The number available on the secondary market is not a reflection on print run. I have seen double the number of others as I have the Manning. That does not mean there are twice as many. It could mean that the Mannings were not pack pulled or that people that pull the Mannings are not as willing to sell.

I think they were saying that they don't know how many cases they're going to make. If they're one-per-case, their scarcity would depend on the case count.

What's more likely is that they'll stuff the back-end over-order cases with last year's shadow boxes and call them buy-backs.

A lot of people misuse the term "LOL." I literally laughed out loud when I read what his reply should be. I find myself thanking a lot of your posts...

I have heard that they look fantastic in person. Can't wait to see it.

There have only been 4 copies of the Peyton Manning.

I have not seen a signed variation of any of them surface.

The only signed version I have seen thus far on the bay is the Golden Tate.
