Boy do I plan on redeeming tons of those codes, imagine a free '52 set! And you don't have to have the cards sent to you if you don't want them.

Re: 2010 Topps Series 1 break - 31 More Packs

With all the confusion about when I will get my cases (I have heard anything from Monday to Thurs next week for my Hobby cases), I couldn't help myself and went and got 31 more packs of Retail from Target.
BIG mistake
Once again, no auto or relic so that is 61 Retail packs without an auto or relic.
No variation this time. The only thing really worth noting is a Regular Back variation of the "Cards your mom threw out" 1969 Reggie Jackson which isn't too bad since regular back variations are 1:24
I also got a regular back variation 1989 Gary Sheffield.
Other than that....just plain old base Topps and inserts.

Another thing I found humorous was a "Cards Your Mom Threw Out" subset card of a 2007 Dustin Pedroia. Come On!! Cannot believe that is part of a subset with that name!!!

What's the variation look like? Do they have them for all "Cards your mom threw out"? I collect Thomas and I think he's in that set.

The variations have the same looking back as the original card instead of the back of the subset.
The variations do not have any mention of being a part of the subset. They look exactly like the
original looked only they are printed on the new card stock instead of the old cardboard.

What a ton of different inserts! I will have to put together or buy a red back insert set.

Just realized the Million dollar giveaway, has different pictures on them,
Would player collectors be interested in those cards too?

That's depressing. "1952: Topps dumps 1952 cards in the river."

I was thinking the same thing.I'd be interested to hear the story behind this.

The back of the card has the story on it. It says that the later Series (I think 5 which included the Mantle) wasn't selling at all and they needed to make room in their warehouse so they decided to dump them.

:benson: Oh OK, I thought they dumped cards from the late '80's & '90's Because of the overproduction. Thanks for the clarification ;)
casebusters-yes I would/will

Thats just another way to sell them, and if a collector buys one, because of a certain player, they get to redeem the card and keep the card of said player!!

Did you happen to get a Ripken redback in those last 31 packs?
