While the folks at Upper Deck haven’t released actual card images or checklists of 2010 Upper Deck Series One, which is currently scheduled to be released on February 3, 2010; I have managed to get a copy of the product information sheet from Upper Deck, to give at least some idea of what we’re going to be getting.

The product consists of 600 cards (which means you’re looking at 1,200 cards overall!) with 16 cards a pack, 20 packs a box, and 12 boxes a case. Each pack will contain 2 Season Biography cards which seem to be an updated version of what Upper Deck Documentary was and seems to be the 2010 Waste of Space card set idea. Each box will have two memorabilia cards and one autograph card as well.

The rest of the preview is here

Not sure if you wrote this up or not, if so, you may want to fix this....

No pictures. Either Upper Deck is holding back because they want the sales before the unleash the product, or they're holding back because they're going to blow our pants off.

I'm ambivalent at this moment, but I'll still probably get one box for my review.

These 2 things don't go together. Sell sheets have pictures. Info sheets do not.

Thanks for getting us to visit your blog though. ::facepalm::

These are good:
2010 Exquisite cards seeded at one per case (2010 Upper Deck 1 Is The First Baseball Product Of The Year To Have Exquisite Cards! [Yeah, no duh, Sherlock])
Gary Sheffield 500 HR POH card (could be the most affordable one yet)

This sounds dumb:
20th Anniversary Heroes Art Cards commemorating the first certified autograph (1990 Upper Deck Reggie Jackson Heroes) falling at one per box

And this gives me ******-chills:
10th Anniversary 2000 UD Rookie Update Cards! On the tenth anniversary of the 2000 Upper Deck baseball set, we take a look back to create 20 additional Star Rookie subset cards that never made it to the set- including stars like Johan Santana and Michael Young

Does anyone remember the 2000 Update set? Was there one? Way to congratulate yourself on not being able to spot or produce cards of talented players.

BTW, UD rarely releases checklists or pictures before release of a set, even the base set.

The "Classic" 1990 Upper Deck set? I don't think that got released.

I did like 1991 though.

Actually the 2000 Rookie update set was one of the coolest, most innovative best breaks ever.

Mixing 3 sets, SPX, SPA, Pros & Prospects, updating the base and auto rookie sets for each into one product. It was perhaps the first time this was done, and it was done to the tune of 4-6 SERIAL numbrered rookies per box (unheard of at the time) and 3/4 boxes had a Rookie auto. This was also a big deal. (remember this was BEFORE 2001 Bowman Chrome had Pujols)

Not to mention Super Rookies Ben Sheets (Team USA hero) and Barry Zito were auto Rookies in this set. Not to mention future slugger Xavier Nady, and the rest of Team Usa (including Minor league player of the year Jon Rauch, and some scrub named Roy Oswalt)

It was a big deal.

I just want to know if Palmeiro will be in any buybacks. I know he was in Sweet Spot 09? I believe, as a 1/1 bat barrel. I was hoping they'd have more of him this year.

Is it just me or are the sets way too damn big now?Nobody at my local shop busts anywhere close enough for me to complete one series let alone both and it takes either a monster amount of packs or having to go the singles route on sportslots which will cost you a lot in the end.I guess I can always hop on ebay and buy a completed set.I just wish they were a bit smaller.IMO...anyhting over 800 cards is pushing it.

Don't forget, the kicker is 2010 Upper Deck baseball will be their first release not licensed by the MLB - that is maybe why they are keeping things under wraps.

2000 Upper Deck flagship was a dud as far as rookies were concerned, but as mentioned in the thread the company did release an update rookie product that was pretty impressive because of the hot rookies at the time.

Documentary was a cool concept and I am still trying to complete my set.I have roughly over 3,000 of the cards. The thing that bothers me is there weren't more cards per box.The cards in and of themselves are pretty cheaply made.Nothing too costly about them. The other thing is that it wasn't havily busted locally so the only cards I even have are from busting and buying lots on here.I have never been able to buy one single card from the entire set(except a few of the update cards) from my local shop.I had to buy sealed boxes. The coallation left something to be desired too. With a 5,000 card set...I should never be pulling doubles when I only have 1,000 cards.I was though. That is why I stopped busting them.I was actually hoping they would have loose packs or blasters at wally world or Target for reduced prices but haven't seen jack.

I have a HUGE stack of Documentary sitting to my left (from the 2 boxes I opened).

Yo'ure welcome to them all. Send me a list of the cards you need.

Oh yeah, that's right. I remember chasing the SP cards from the 2000 Update set. I think I was thinking of the 2003 boxed set. I still have a few nice David Espinosa cards from that set. But I was quickly distracted by Black Diamond and the USA Jersey cards therein. Still seems to me an odd thing to commemorate.
