Looks like Topps is trying to avoid stepping in the hole rather than having to dig themselves out of it, considering the difficulties they always seem to have with fulfilling redemptions.

If they include no player name, makes it easier for them to go to plan B with less outrage if plan A doesn't work out.

I'd imagine we have to wait and see who didn't get packed out or maybe if he redeems it, the Topps site will say.

Best case (i.e. fictional) scenario - either Jacob Turner or Eric Hosmer.

Someone on BO's boards just unlocked a Prospect Mystery Redemption, and it turned out to be Darin Mastrioanni.

There's your added value right there. It's like front-loading a wrapper redemption...

So far its guys that were TBD and recently filled in on the checklist. Looks like Topps screwed up and forgot to print the names.

The lay-out of the card seems a little too tight and measured for there to just be a name missing.

I still hope it's TBD guys. Maybe it Red Hot rookies all over again. Wouldn't THAT be awesome?

I just thought of this but this is going to KILL group breaks.

If 5 guys are blank name autos and no one knows who is who, a team break will have just been screwed over.

Why? Andrew can just input the code in and find out who it is and then ship the card to the owner(s) when redeemed.

I suggested on the first thread that popped up about this last night:

"I would think that card COULD go crazy on ebay. Seriously.

Until Topps announces, let the general public buy into 2011 Bowman, Harper, and redemptions, and let them make their own conclusions. "
yeah, screw your buyers. what a great idea

How is that screwing your buyers? "Let them make their own conclusions" is screwing the buyers? Seriously?

Friggen great!

The ONE player I wanted from the set!

Are they all Mastroianni's or are there more than one in the "Mystery Redemptions"?

Gotta side with Mark here Charlie. Not sure how this is screwing the buyer in any case. Just throwing up the redemption for auction and letting them decide who it could be...not sure how that screws the buyer.

Orange refractor pulled here:
