2011 Goodwin Presidential Paintings..

I just looked on ebay at a few of the presidential paintings; now is it just me, or is it that some of them have great detail while some of them seem not so detailed?? and will this possibly lower the value of these cards??

Which are you referring to? The one's I've seen all look pretty awesome. The artist who painted those did around half the run, and the other artists are redemptions, so it remains to see how the quality will be on those. (My fingers are crossed since I have an FDR incoming.

When the person scanned that card they adjusted the exposure on it. It's been lightened up a lot. In person, I can tell you it's probably alot darker and looks a whole lot better.

That is a different artist that painted most of what is up now.

So far I have seen 3 different artists' autos on the backs of these cards.

It's too bad upper deck didn't let Jared do them all, in the spirit of consistency.

I believe they did.... it just took him so long to do them and he sent half back and they had to find other artist to do them.

They did not give him enough time (he's posted it takes IIRC 3 1/2 hours per to paint) though it seems strange that they wanted his back on time and then went to other people and inserted redemptions. Maybe they assumed those people would have them back in time.

No, they didn't. They asked him to return all the ones he hadn't finished, and now there are several redemptions in this product.

I believe Jared completed 22 of the 43 Presidents, so over half of them. So far, I have counted 10 different redemptions of the remaining 21 Presidents, and I have yet to see a single example of several others meaning it's likely there are even more redemptions, none of which will be from Jared Kelley.

If upper deck was going to have this many redemptions, why not let Jared complete the project?

i pulled this one out of my 2 boxes and thought it looked very nice. i will say that they do look better in person than the scans though. mine was done by this same artist kelly akins.

Another option would have been to give them all to Jared and only have 5 per president. Would have made more sense.

haven't really made up my mind yet. one time i want to sell and then i think about pulling from only 2 boxes and them being such nice cards i want to keep it. i'm on the fence but after a few of them sell i might be more inclined to let it go.

Exactly....Jared just has more detailed paintings...
