I don't buy Leaf products at all but BG has been doing a lot in the hobby that isn't being done. Someone commented about the Ali, Rose and Lombardi sets. Great idea for Icons. It's funny ready Gregg Kohn's twitter feed as he writes his anger, yet someone accuses BG of being the unprofessional one.

Calling leaf a grab bag in comparison to other companies is just incorrect. Panini and Topps products are absolutely the same thing right now. Buy a box of Tier One, Marquee, TTT, Sterling and you get the same thing. For Panini you have every product that gives you Rookie Free Agent autos with a hundreds of paralleled "hits". Anybody tried 2011 Gold Standard Football? Good Grief, one of the worst sets for the price of all time. $200 a box?

Speaking of that, what about Panini and their price fixing campaign? Talk about harming the collector.

So before you get all uppity with your anti BG campaign, why don't you talk about what the other companies are doing?

A bunch of us hate you, but we don't follow you around and post in every thread the list of various reasons we hate you. :twisted:


I hate brussel sprouts. I don't go to the grocery store and stand by them and tell people I hate brussel sprouts. I don't declare my disgust for them every time they are brought up in conversation. If I see brussel sprouts, I avoid them. I don't eat them, but I know that other people enjoy them and I'm OK with that.

There are plenty of people, like yourself and Sam that I would never Foe for the simple fact that you all have very well thought out opinions and views that I like to read, when "on topic", but when the topic of this thread was "2011 LEAF LEGENDS OF SPORT TRADING CARDS" and it turned into a "you put ****** in your "***" product", "your a liar" and "leaf sucks", you cant tell me that is acceptable, can you?? I'm not sure why anyone thinks this thread was the forum to discuss an issue that has ZERO to do with this product. Could have just started a thread about it so you could all just rinse and repeat the same debate.

People should know better but that may be too much to ask. Charlie, you know i'm a fan of you and most times we agree on certain facets of the hobby but this is unwarranted. Andrew started a thread to discuss ONE product and this was derailed, period.

This is far from blind hate. This is calling a spade a spade. Did you or did you not at one time vow to never use a ****** signature in your products? A simple yes or no.

I know it's hard for you to keep your cool and not go all crazy ballistic on those of us who don't like you, your product and see you for what you really are. Looks like it to me.
If they were on card, I'd have to imagine that would be a prominently featured selling point.

So you're basically looking at $53 per sticker auto.

He's got some great names on the checklist, but $160 for 3 stickers is expecting a lot of your customer base, I think.

I also think he's walking a thin line with some of those mock-ups. Looks like the same type of pics UD got sued for in 2009.

I would love if it turned out to be on card autos, but it doesn't look like it's going that way.

I don't think he needed to say that the autos were mock-ups for people to realize that.

The point is that it almost certainly looks like a sticker from the mock-ups. If they were on-card, they'd have made them look on card.

$53 a card just seems like a lot for some of the names listed. Idk, maybe I'm wrong, the market will decide.

As a note, the cost to print each card is nearly $5 per card (damn small print runs!!!)

Thats before we even put a signature on them!
Add photography, boxes, image rights, autographs, labor, etc and you quickly find it is not nearly as profitable as one might think.

The checklist is very strong overall.. I feel very comfortable with what weve offered as opposed to watering it down with no-name prospects to get the price down.... BG

p.s.- you should remember that Topps and other companies are USUALLY paying MORE for autographs that what the sell for on ebay when someone runs .99 and let it rip......
