icethetics.info has posted a drawing of the Penguins jersey. this jersey has been drawn to match all of the details the Pens have said the jersey would have except for the missing WC Logo on the chest and the numbers on the sleeves.

I am a huge fan of this version and really really hope this is THE jersey...

love it!!

the Pens have not said that that is the jersey. they still have not said when the jersey design will be officially released.

Interesting Pens look. Not sure about the fusion look. I do like the scarf Pens logo getting on a jersey for the first time. I was hoping they would have went with the yellow Sunday jersey they had in the early 80's.

I was really hoping for the Yellow jersey as well.

I do like the look of this jersey but I do not like that the stripes go up so high and I definitely don't like the elastic cuffs on the sleeves. I am going to wait to see them in person before I decide if I want one or not. hopefully they will have them at PensGear when I am at the game tomorrow.

EDIT: I should add that I think they look great on the players and I am a fan of the jersey.

Color me jealous. I wish I could have gone when they had it in Chicago. Just couldn't afford a ticket. I'd love a Crosby jersey. I really like the rounded numbers and the baby blue.

thanks guys. I am going to look for a ticket holder with a lanyard so I can protect the ticket while I am at the game. I have already purchased a screwdown holder to display it on my bookcase after the game.

our tix were $140. the ones in the lower bowl are $160.

at first I wasn't a big fan of the WC jerseys but after seeing them in person at the last few games they have really grown on me and I will most likely buy one soon.

the Penguins announced today that they will build a rink in the Heinz Field parking lot from December 19th to the 23rd. the rink will be completed and open to the public for ice skating on December 24th. the rink will also be used to host a variety of youth hockey games. the Pens will use the dasherboards and Zambonis from the Civic Arena on this public rink.

"Among the youth hockey events will be an international AAA bantam tournament featuring two Pittsburgh Penguins Elite teams (one coached by Mario Lemieux) and the Washington Junior Capitals. It also will include teams from the hometowns of Penguins stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin – from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia and Magnitogorsk, Russia."

* The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL)
* The Pittsburgh Amateur Hockey League (PAHL)
* The Pittsburgh Penguins Elite girls team
* The Pittsburgh ICE inner-city hockey program
* The Mighty Penguins sled hockey team
* The Steel City Icebergs (special needs hockey)
* USA Hockey development programs

What is the Sked for the rink to be put up in Heinz Field? When does Dan Craig name and face start showing up everywhere. Mr. Ice guru. I'm still surprised they went back to a NFL Football stadium with tight sked of getting it in and then a quick takedown. One of great things here in Boston last year is the rink was up for a month. Had college games/legends games/ public events all kinds of stuff. But I guess the huge ticket sales from football stadium was the main factor.

the process to prepare the Winter Classic rink inside Heinz Field will begin on Monday, December 20th with rink construction officially beginning on Wednesday, December 23rd. there really isn't a tight schedule because the Steelers agreed to play their last 2 games of the season on the road. the rink will need to come down in time for Playoff games however. that is the reason for the rink being built in the parking lot.

there will be a hockey doubleheader played on Thursday, December 30th at the CONSOL Energy Center. the first game will feature Robert Morris University and the Rochester Institute of Technology at 3pm followed by the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins (Pens) and the Hershey Bears (Caps) at 7pm.

the NHL looked at using PNC Park but the rink did not fit they way they wanted and obviously they loved the fact that Heinz Field can hold around 70,000 fans as opposed to PNC Park's 34,000.
