2011 Topps Lineage No foil error ?

I've seen some of these on eBay. Anyone know if these are just a printing error and not worth more than a standard base? an intended parallel error? or just some dude removing the foil from his base cards to try to make an extra few bucks?

been debating whether it's worth picking up or not. I don't want to pay if it's just some ****** that rubbed off the foil.

This happens whenever any foiled Topps product comes out. Someone gets a handful of printing errors, goes on ebay, calls them OMG RARE ERROR 1/1??????????????????????????????????????????????????, and gets people to pay way too much money for what are technically worthless errors. I wouldn't pay anymore than a dime for one of these.

in 2009 topps tribute had a bunch of no foil cards that commanded a huge premium.
