is there a site that tells you what the letters spell beyond the last name or is there a standard set? like last name and team name? thank you.

They spell out the nickname of the school that the player went to. So if you were going after say for example, Cam Newton, the letters would be T I G E R S. For Hankerson it would be be H U R R I C A N E S.

I know team name is one that gets spelled out... not sure if last name is also?

If you're curious about the Canes in it, there is Allen Bailey and Graig Cooper, and both spell out "HURRICANES".
