$61 dollars is the most you ever paid for a Butler? You are lucky! I'm still waiting for the Trammell 1/1 to show up.

David Justice was one of the nice hits back in 1990. I think the nostalgia for the bigger cards in 90 are driving some current prices.

From my point of view, there was one big hit on the checklist and it closed this afternoon. I have officially paid the most I have ever paid for a Butler card... more than I did for my PSA 9 '93 Finest Refractor, or my first '92 Diamond King super, or the combined price for my four '90 Donruss aqueous tests. SOAB.

Nice addition to your collection. I'm still waiting for the Ripken 1/1 to surface, unless of course I missed it but I've been looking daily for it.

It was on eBay recently, but no one bid on it. You might try contacting the seller to see if they still have it:
2012 Leaf Memories 1990 Cal Ripken Jr Buyback Red 1 1 Orioles | eBay

I put together a google spreadsheet of the 1/1 cards from this set that have shown up on ebay. It turns out that about 25% of them have been on there. Hopefully there are lots more to come!

If anyone wants to see the spreadsheet send me a PM.

It's the NEW thing on eBay... start the auction with a redic high BIN and then let people make offers... honestly, I think sellers get a premium on their cards but they should seriously make the BIN something not stupid high...

Honestly I hate this practice.... I say start at $0.99 and let it ride but that's just me.

Since you are specifically talking about my auction, I'll address my thought process. I was essentially the first person to list auctions from this product. I had no idea where to price any card, let alone a 1/1 of Tony Gwynn. Based upon the pricing tiers that I guessed at, the Gwynn at that price (which is just a fishing for an offer BIN) seemed right. I sold the Kevin McReynolds Red 1/1 for $91. The $40 offers I keep getting on the Gwynn don't make sense to me. What I find funny is that all of the Gwynn buyers on here keep mocking the card saying how ridiculous it is that Leaf bought these cards and stamped them and then people want them, but they are the ones making these low offers. If you don't like the set, why do you want the card? If you want the card, then make me a reasonable offer...and no, I don't expect anyone to hit the BIN. I had nothing in completed auctions to go on and I just threw out a number. So far, it has worked quite well with this product. I'm not trying to be the least bit combative in this response, I just find it funny that this auction for whatever reason has struck such a nerve. It's a BIN BO auction. Just make me an offer, but be aware of what other 1/1's from this product are selling for and offer accordingly. I'd love for the card to end up going to a great Gwynn collection...I'm sure eventually it will.

I collect only Albert Belle, so my thoughts and feelings are around Albert Belle auctions/examples and not "specifically" your auction... anyways, I'll leave your post and thoughts to someone who wants to comment because I have no idea what auction you're talking about and can't comment on Gywnn auctions, prices, etc.

I haven't seen his 1/1 yet. I've been keeping a close eye for these 1/1's on ebay, youtube, this forum and a couple of other places. So far I've seen 167 of the 528 cards (I keep a list).

If I notice that one I'll let you know.

Recently purchased a Strawberry auto/18. It came from a seller in Taiwan. It also does not have the Hologram on the back. Anyone else seen one of the autos without a hologram?

I recall someone posting a case break here that said one of their autos didn't have the hologram. If it's machine numbered to 18 on the front, I wouldn't worry. If you plan to resell, I would contact Leaf though and ask if you could send it in and have them place a hologram on it.
