I believe the dark swatches are from a cap/hat. Grove had a Prime Cuts card released in the past which had a description of the item on the back of the card.

The Grove pieces are from a Boston red Sox hat. Its dark blue on the outside and the white is the sweatband from the inside. This is what I was told anyway by a person from DLP in 2005 ish.

Im just back into the hobby but is it really worth someones time and effort to make fake patch cards? It has got to be hard to make th patches stick plus keep the cards themselves looking like they havent been tampered with.

Any examples of fakes so us newbies know what to look out for???

I'm not sure about it. It's a patch that looks a little too good to be true. Might be legit, however.
