With Gehrig at $6,500 and Ruth at almost $6,000, $3,500 seems fair for Mantle given the hobby prices and since I'm sure it won't be too difficult to make Mantle knobs in the future.

Can someone explain how Gehrig got more than Ruth? Or is this just an element of Ruth was auction and Gehrig was BO? Just doesn't seem right lol

Probably the auction vs. BO part. However, I've seen Gehrig cut autos at auction sell for more than Ruth cut autos at auction. Gehrig patches used to sell for as much or even more than Ruth patches at auction sometimes. Gehrig stuff is just as rare, he died early so he didn't have the whole post-baseball fame that Ruth and Mantle had.

Makes sense. Now that I think about it, I see a lot more Ruth stuff than Gehrig stuff. Thanks for the insight... not like I'd be able to afford either knob but just curious lol
