Unless there is a Bryce Harper caliber rookie to come out next year I don't think this will be done again.I do think this set will see a price increase in the secondary market because it will be a gaping whole in many Heritage collections with only 1000 sets available. If I were you I would probably go ahead and order it.I know you enjoy keeping your set run complete so it will probably cost you more to add it later.

when i spoke about next years release, i was talking about the regular issue of 2013 Heritage

I think the success of Heritage has a lot more to do with set design more than any other factor (rookies, etc). 2012's just didn't draw as many people in as 2011.

I've been banging that drum in a few posts now.And JP, I don't think Razor sold direct to the public. Just does, but I didn't think Razor did. One of the few atrocities they didn't do to harm consumers.

Sure they sold direct to the public. Remember Razor Metal?

Ah, I was thinking sealed product, not individual cards.

There is a difference that you point out making this less effort by Topps far less egregious. Imagine if Topps started selling Heritage autos or base Harper RC's from this set individually through their website???

They sold individual cards and autos with the eTopps program. Granted they weren't Heritage but they did sell Ginter sets.

I don't believe that's appropriate.

Why not add printing plates?

100 cards = 400 Printing Plates

Add in autographed printing plates and just about every other box would have one.

I bought one just like I bought a box of mini. I don't want to miss out and I loved Traded Update Box sets growing up. Congratulations Topps you've suckered me again.

You can probably buy nearly every topps traded from 81-95 (minus 82) for the cost of this one.

In the regular Heritage product, Is there more than 1000 of each SP?

Because they normally sell for $3-$5 for common SPs..
and book (yeah no one cares) for $6-$10 each

what does a Harper #/2012 out of Topps Update sell for ?

I thought the price was high too until I thought about the SPs....

I'll be buying a few sets to break for the website!!

Topps’ Heritage Update set to arrive Nov. 6
By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor
Pre-ordering for the ShopTopps.com-exclusive 2012 Topps Heritage High Number set has begun today, its originally announced date, but the sets will not begin shipping until Nov. 6, according to the company.
While a checklist was not yet released by Topps, the sets will cost $99.95 on the company’s website and one previously unannounced feature also will be found inside the sets.
There will be red-ink autographs limited to just 10 copies among the autographs that will be seeded one per set.
The set will include the players who missed the checklist for the early season release — Washington Nationals rookie Bryce Harper for starters. It also will include another of Ichiro Suzuki‘s first cards as a member of the New York Yankees.
Among the rookies slated to sign for the release include Harper, Oakland’s Yoenis Cespedes, Texas ace Yu Darvish and Boston’s Will Middlebrooks among others.
The release is the second online-only exclusive this year as it released 2012 Topps Mini — a shrunken version of its flagship set — in August.

Is the previously unannounced feature in each set, the autograph?
Or is there something else with the autograph?

Here's the checklist.

By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor

Topps released the final checklist for its much-anticipated 2012 Topps Heritage High Number boxed set on Wednesday, which includes some notable debut cards.

There are 22 Rookie Cards in the online-only set, according to the company, a crop led by Bryce Harper, Yu Darvish, Trevor Bauer, Yoenis Cespedes and Matt Adams. Notable veterans include Ichiro Suzuki, Andy Pettitte, NLCS MVP Marco Scutaro and several others in their new uniforms.

There will be 22 players on the autograph checklist, a crop led by the rookies Harper, Darvish, Cespedes and Bauer. Three autograph cards on the checklist remain to be determined.

The sets will cost $99.95 on the company’s website and there will be red-ink autographs limited to just 10 copies among the autographs that will be seeded one per set. In addition, Topps has announced that only 1,000 sets will be made.

The release is the second online-only exclusive this year as it released 2012 Topps Mini — a shrunken version of its flagship set — in August.

Collectors can order a maximum of 20 sets per household.
