Got to love the guy selling the Ty Cobb for $7,500 charging $30 for s/h LOL! If someone scratched me a check that large for a baseball card, I'd probably consider taking care of the shipping myself... Maybe it's just me

so basically cause they are cool, they don't really need to be real? If you give topps a pass here I can guarantee you the next "relics" will be bogus
also. Is that what you want in your collection? At what point do we see these as special box loaders in 20 dollar retail blaster boxes? If you don't
this will effect your bottom line, ask those who collected cards by pacific and score board.

I'm not sure who is more dumb here, collectors who look the other way and just open up and say AHHHHH, or topps cause they were smart enough to use
bogus knobs, yet dumb enough to keep an "authentication" sticker on one of them. Hell, they still can't spell Eddie Mathews name right!

Might as well be authenticated by Fleer!

Very interesting take... Has me thinking back to the '90s when game used cards were BIG BUCKS and now they are like common inserts lol... if we could fast forward 5 years, bat knobs will be a thing of the past and will be in every set? I'll admit they'll run out of Ruth, Cobb, etc. eventually right? Again, this is a much larger issue but when will these types of things just start disapearing? What about cuts? Will Ruth cuts ever just start being hard for card companies to find? Would be a great thread topic.

Anyways, back on topic... I can't wait to see what the Clemente ends at!

I've heard from multiple sources about a Mantle sold on BO and also from one or two about a DiMaggio. However I have no idea as to prices and I'm not certain the DiMaggio was sold but pretty sure the Mantle was. Just don't know figures

This is strange because I heard both were sold by multiple sources but now it looks like both are up on eBay... same seller and both are $7,000 BIN or BO... I thought Olbermann was buying these and others up, is that his eBay handle?~!

Where are you seeing those? Did a search for 2012 bat knob and not seeing DiMaggio or Mantle

Search Topps bat knob, that's the easiest way to see them all. Both the Mantle and Dimaggio are up by the same seller so I'd think the same guy bought them off eBay to flip because obviously these weren't both just pulled by the same guy.

Pulled at my LCS this past week here in Dallas. Don't see it on eBay, so might stay in their PC...

That Banks is Nice! and finally someone is gonna keep something they pulled  seems like no one keeps anything they pull these days!

Funny you say this because I was going to start a thread about this. I personally don't bust a lot of new product because I only collect Albert Belle but I joke with people that nearly EVERY Belle card hits eBay, so I'll have a shot at them all.... part of me feels like the hobby now a days is more gambling rather than collecting. Think of this... guy buys a case (has the money to do so), pulls the Clemente knob and sells it on eBay. What out of that case could he had been wanting more? Ruth or Cobb knob? Anything he would keep for his PC? Answer: Probably not
