2013 heritage chrome GOLD, why so cheap?

Im pretty surprised that the prices most of these gold cards have gotten usually aren't much higher.

Considering the prices the black refractors sell for, I would think the golds (10x rarer) would be much much higher.

Any thoughts?

I would say the Jeter that sold for $733 at auction did fairly well.

2 reasons why they won't be higher.

A. Set collectors are very apprehensive about trying for a set limited to /5.

B. People take time to get used to new parallel colors. For instance, Bowman Chrome Purple and Blue Wave Refractor Autographs still sell low in relation to more seasoned Gold and Orange Autos.

Heritage cards sell for so much because of set collectors. Not a whole lot of people collect Bobby Shantz. But a whole lot of people collect 2001 Topps Heritage autographs. That's what a 2001 Bobby Shantz red auto is currently sitting at over $300 on ebay.

Set collectors like myself are fed up with this product. Black refractor sets are a challenge, but attainable if you put your mind to it. I have completed one black refractor set out of 15 issued. Gold refs /5 are next to impossible, and will be very spendy.

The Jeter sold so well because even though Set collectors were out, there are still a lot of people who collect Jeter. I think you will continue to see very high prices for players who are highly collected and in demand, and surprisingly low prices for the Fernando Rodneys and Matt Harrisons of the set. I would gladly pay $25 to $30 a pop for 2004 and 2005 black ref commons I need for my sets. I'd be hesitant to pay that for 2013 gold ref commons.
