hmmm....

1. Last month I picked up a Braves-era Butler game used bat. I need to strip the lacquer that the previous owner put on it before I show it off, but I did some checking with BMH from Louisville Slugger and he was able to help me pin down the authenticity. It is auto'd, so I'll lose that when I strip it - not a big deal, though. I can always get that redone.

2. 1992 Bowman final original published negative - actual color transparency used to create the card. The actual negative is much smaller than what I've shown here - I blew it up to show detail.

I was expecting a very cool item, and that is exactly what I got. However, I wasn't expecting what came along for the ride. It appears to be a hand-drawn mockup of what the card was going to look like. It is done on some sort of thin plastic sheet.

3. This should be arriving in the mail any day. If it is legit, and I think it is, it will be my first complete uniform. It is also my first Cleveland piece, leaving only a Giants uni to complete the run.

That's a huge card. How you were able to keep it from going overseas, I don't know.

Thanks! It's an amazing card, that's for sure.

By the way, why so you say overseas? Is there a huge Belle guy over there or something? Just curious :)

Two of the three '97 Butler Flair Masterpieces that have surfaced went to overseas buyers, or maybe the same dude. For all I know the third one is in the same collection and I never even saw it. Both went for over $200.

I added 41 T-206's this year- This is my greatest one! Love this card

My John L. Sullivan collection really gathered steam with this guy

And then this guy: Pack pulled and took three years for it to get signed and to get back to me. Building this set and this is my centerpiece and has added so much more skip to my step now with completing it all!

My top 3 additions weren't my most expensive ones. They were all pretty inexpensive, but were cards I had been hunting for several years for my SF Giants collection.

#1 : 1967 Topps Venezuelan Damaso Blanco
#2 : 1997 Ultra Platinum Deivi Cruz
#3 : 1994 Stadium Club Draft "First Day Issue" Troy Brohawn

Hard to pick just 3 and I'm sure I'll overlook something. In no particular order

1968 Nolan Ryan RC - Interesting story to go with it. There's a local flea market that runs once a month that I haven't been to in probably 15+ years but have thought about going again but just never did. Decided to finally go on the last opening before they shut down for the winter. Was running out of time and only had a few minutes before I had to leave and noticed a booth off in the distance that had a lot of toys. So I went over and checked it out and he ended up having a little bit of baseball stuff. Among them were this, a '68 Mantle, '69 Jackson rc, and '79 Smith rc graded psa8. I bought all four on my way out for a great price and will be going back next year for sure. I had always thought it'd be cool to own a Ryan rc but never thought one would show up in my budget. Definitely a big one to knock off my all-time wantlist. Only graded a 4, but has great eye appeal so idk what psa saw that brought down the grade.

All my Carlos Correa autographs obtained ip this year. I think he's going to be a stud in just a few years.

Ernie Banks signed 8x10 and inscribed 58/59 MVP. It's framed and matted real nice now, but I already had this scan on my computer. Got it signed at the last Cubs Caravan to come through my area and he was a late addition to the list of attendees. He was very nice (as usual) and was inscribing anything for free which normally doesn't happen in a free autograph setting with someone of his stature.

Honorable mention: Doc Gooden signed '85 SI and Byron Buxton ip auto's. Gooden is on my list simply because I think it turned out great with real nice eye appeal. I'm not a huge Gooden fan or Met fan, but grew up watching him in the 80's. He's not a hard auto to obtain and is very nice if you have a chance to meet him. Buxton is here because he is the #1 prospect in milb and has become a very hard ip signer to obtain. I met him early on in the year when he was still nice, and signed. I think he's going to be a stud as well in a very short time.

I agree...I think Carlos Correa is going to be special. Him, Lindor and Russell and going to be special middle infielders.

I loved the new Leaf trinity cards of his...bummer that he did not inscribe them.

Here's my top 3 ...

2012 Allen and Ginter Codebreaker 1/1 auto

2005 Bowman Heritage Signs of Greatness "Red Ink" auto

2012 Allen and Ginter SSP auto ... This card is harder to find than the "red inks" which I also added. Not sure how many base autos were made and signed but it can't be many.

Oh did you say card? ;)

As far as cards go.. I picked up a Mantle/Griffey Auto (haven't scanned it yet)
then I grabbed another Mantle/Griffey Auto (with the COA)
and then I picked up a Griffey Patch card for the 2009 Ultimate Patch Set I am working on.. (I haven't received it yet)
