2013 Panini USA Baseball Champions question

I've been on the lookout for one of the 2012 Collegiate National Team cards and have only seen one parallel show up on the auction site. It seems rather odd that the base version don't regularly show up often on the auction site or sportlots. I know it's "shortprinted" but I don't think it would be extreme shortprinted considering you get a few "shortprinted" members of the 2012 Team USA squad from various age groups in each box.

Do you think that the chances are this to-be-unnamed player (2013 1st round pick tho) is being accumulated by prospectors until he might make a MLB debut or are most of his cards probably just sitting in unopened boxes waiting to be ripped?

I was targeting a player for the box set last year and only a 1/1 lineup auto surfaced at release in terms of "good" stuff. No aus /2, /25 or patch aus /35. It sucked.

This same player had quite a few USA Champions autos surface. I'm only missing the black 1/1 for the auto rainbow.

So some players just won't show up in quantity for the usa sets. It's too bad breakers don't realize there's a ton of value in the USA stuff.
