2013 Topps Chrome Baseball (Redemption Announcement)

Topps Chrome Baseball is always one of the most anticipated products of the year and 2013 Topps Chrome baseball is no different! Look for autograph Rookie cards of Yasiel Puig, Many Machado, Mike Zunino and more. In addition, Topps Chrome will deliver, dual autos, triple autos and autograph patch cards.

While we have secured all of the top rookies in Topps Chrome Baseball, a handful of them will be redemptions. We want our customers to be assured that we are working around the clock to get the cards signed and into the hands of our valued collectors. In fact, many of the redemption cards in this product are already in-house and ready to be shipped out including some of Yasiel Puig's cards (image attached).

And starting with Topps Chrome , we will be updating collectors on the status of player signings on a weekly basis via Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr. Look for updates every Friday.

Their definition of "a handful" is different than most.

So basically, every autograph of interest, short of Evan Gattis possibly, is a redemption.

Well at least it's not a surprise when you pull them now. Should make a few of them cheaper on eBay versus the live cards.

So roughly half the autos are redemptions. So that means roughly every box "on average" should have one.

Sweet Caroline that's a lot.

Topps doesn't care about redemption's, they have plenty of sticker auto's to make non-released sets to fulfill in case collectors are in a hurry to get their cards.

I'd assume most of these autographs are short-printed, so maybe every 4 boxes has a redemption.

Just a guess.

Lets forget about the tragedy that is topps chrome. The bigger news here is transparency. From now on topps will tell us BEFORE the product hits, which cards will be redemptions and forever keep us updated on which cards have been signed and which haven't yet. That is HUGE. My email to the president must of worked!

I applaud Topps for putting this out there to the public. A little transparency never hurt. I will now be saving some money as there is no way I will buy this product.

I'm with you.

Imagine going to a retail store for a product and inside the box is a card for the product you actually want and paid for? Idiotic.

The Topps company should at least assure a customer who receives a redemption as to when that card is going to be signed and mailed to him. Otherwise, I see this redemption stuff as a scam in many cases, no pun intended, because many of their "redeemable" autos never get signed and sent. And what does get sent is nothing anyone actually was paying to buy.

On another note, I redeemed a blue wave pack on a code card from 2013 Bowman, only to have it updated to a single non-auto blue wave card when I logged into my account to check on the blue wave pack status. So, in 5.5 cases of 2013 Bowman, I got one blue wave pack out of ALL the codes I pulled, only to see it revoked. Sound fair to you? Pfff...

So in other words in 2 years (when all the redemptions expire) these boxes will be worth 1/4 (if not less) of what they used to be...

Lets just say if they didnt put out this info and people were pulling 10-12 redemptions per case there would be hell to pay

If they actually gave a XXXX, they would have announced that this might have been a possibility before people had to purchase their allocations. Releasing this after the fact (after the product releases) is intolerable. I haven't purchased any type of wax in well over three years, and I can't stand why anyone would. Now you don't even get the cards you're chasing. You get a card, which says you'll get said card, only to be sent a Doc Gooden sticker Auto. F_ck you Topps and f_ck you MLBPA for continuing to give them exclusive rights. The people at Topps are worse than used car salesman. And people still continue to give them their money, blind.
