Didn't see a thread started for it yet, and this is my favorite part of the all-star break. Let's use this thread to pick our favorites and generally oooh and ahhh at the bombs that happen tonight.

I'll be rooting for Morneau for sure!

Bautista wins this IMO
He pounds the **** out of the ball at TF
Some of the longest homers I have seen at TF have been off of the bat of Bautista

Good thread, thought someone should start one for sure. I'm not sure who wins but I'll take Bautista for sure.

Anyone have thoughts on the new format?! Not sure if I like it or not personally. Didn't think the derby was "broke," so why fix it IMO.

Yeah I never understood why they felt the need to change the format, but as long as I still get to see guys just ripping moo shots for a couple hours I'm happy!

I guess it is head to head challenge all the way through or after the first round... like a tournament style with a bracket, etc.

Its bracket style with their being byes for the captains in the first round and then there are only 7 outs for each round now instead of 10. As a Twins fan, I really hope to see Dozier do well, especially after seeing him hit 2 homers yesterday in person at Coors

Stanton almost left the building! Every year I have greater appreciation for Hambone's 28 HR round!

It has been overall pretty unimpressive this year. Only Stanton, Bautista, and Frazier round 2 have impressed

HR Derby is lame just like all the other all-star gimmicks including the game. Not sure why, but all star games and the events surrounding them do absolutely nothing for me. This goes for all sports.

It it is great for the kids, but besides that I see no reason to have them.

I didn't watch a single second of the event, no interest.

Now the futures game is a different story.

Frazier fizzled on the final round and who'd thought he would've made it there with 1 HR?
