Yep. Predictions on when Swihart gets called up? I'm thinking May.

Actually read an article the other day saying that he's going to be in Pawtucket for most of the year. They don't think he's ready defensively yet to take over and they are going to let Hannigan handle things for the most part. We shall see thou.

Thanks,
Jeff

I was hoping it was an April Fool's joke but I guess it's not. :( Why does this always happen to my favorite Red Sox players?!...They always get hurt or traded. I was SO looking forward to a full season of Vazquez, he is amazing to watch behind the plate. For someone who is elite defensively, he actually doesn't swing too bad of a bat all considering. He's more of a line drive hitter but I could see him with a .255/.315/.330 line over his first full season. I just feel so bad for him because I know how hard he's worked this offseason and spring trying to perfect his craft and get to know the new pitchers real well. Here's hoping he has a speedy recovery and will be good as new at the start of the 2016 season.

On the topic of Swihart, offensively he is close to ML ready but defensively I agree with Jeff, he's still a season away. I think he will get called up post AS-Break but I wouldn't expect him any earlier. And to think just last year we had TOO much depth at C, amazing how times can change so quick.

Add Ty Hensley to that list via Mike Axisa of riveraveblues.com. This man is doomed. He's had hip surgery and a broken face, so adding Tommy John is almost a trivial accomplishment. It's is frustrating how the Yankees fail to draft homegrown talent. Hopefully the organizational cleansing this past off season will change this terrible path.
