Marc Stein: Looks like we have a fairly significant three-way deal that was submitted to the league just before the trade deadline.

NBA front-office sources tell ESPN.com that Orlando is acquiring Rafer Alston from Houston to fill the void at point guard created by Jameer Nelson's shoulder injury.

The Rockets will receive Memphis guard Kyle Lowry, Orlando forward Brian Cook and perhaps two other minimum-salaried players to make the finances work.

The Grizzlies will receive a first-round pick from Orlando

As a big fan of Kyle Lowry I hope he sees increased playing time. I am sitting of 4 Exquisite RC

I honestly don't know why we moved Alston (although I do like Lowry, though not as much as Rafer), I'm guessing that management has been impressed with what they've seen out of Aaron Brooks & he'll be our starting point guard- which is fine with me if that is thier way of thinking. I do not see Lowry's minutes receiving an uptick as we have a pretty solid bench & I don't see him taking a starting role (yet). I'm bummed to see Alston go (as he was a team leader), but I'm glad to see A.Brooks become a starter..."ChaChing" $$$ :D (I hope)

Aaron did play very well in some of the games he started in place of Rafer. I was hoping Lowry would become the starter, byt Brooks clearly deserves it.

Who is going to start for McGrady?

I agree with Huff, Lowry is a player...you might be suprised at the what he can do. He and Brooks will battle it out for sure, and I like both of them. I have some Lowry Exquisites as well, hopefully they can see some movement now.

I thought it might be, but it is too much for me to spend on a player that I do not know too much about. It could be a good buy, but for me it would be a poor investment. Buying something you are not sure about is foolish.

Absolutely, has to go up with his minutes......he is Tony Parker fast and has range. I am keeping an eye on that now as well.

I may stand corrected guy's (& gal's), I just read this off of Yahoo Sports:

"Alston led Houston with 5.3 assists this season, but Rockets general manager Daryl Morey bluntly said Lowry is a better player.
“Upgrading that position was a goal going into the deadline,” Morey said. “We feel like we accomplished it. Kyle’s going to be a guy this town really loves. He’s a really tough competitor, up-tempo player, a winner.”

I still think that Brooks will be the starter (as he assuredly will be initially while Lowry gets accustomed to our playbook & the team in general) & will produce solid stats as the starter, but I am now definitely intrigued in Lowry (moreso than I was originally since he's on a team with a bigger market) & I think you guy's with the exquisite's should DEFINITELY "hold" for now...Or let me know if you're thinking of moving them! :D

Whats stupid is we didn't move T-Mac so now we are left holding onto his sorry rear end.Thats the one and only guy we should have gotten rid of and I am sad to see Alston go.I don't know Lowry nor do I care.I would like to have Alston back here.

I am really tired of T-Mac and wish they would trade him.The only problem is they can't find anybody dumb enough to take him.

And you know that T-Mac decided to have season ending surgery because he was "butt-hurt" about the Rocketts trying so adamantly to trade him (the coach was unaware of McGrady's decision & found out the same way the fans did, by watching the interview with Stephen A. Smith). I am literally ticked that we ever signed Tracy McLazy, he's done nothing for the team since he's got here but keep our team doctor's busy! Between McLazy & Yao the Rockets could have a medical wing reserved out for the months that the season is in play (& then some)! I really liked Alston & wish him the best. I hope that we hang on to Artest as he is a TRUE gamer (he does it all & seems to have cleaned up his act, when compared to his "wild & wooly day's"). Well I guess we'll get to watch Lowry & A.Brooks grow (with a mix of Von wafer thrown in), which I still feel confident we'll be solid at the PG position but we will definitely miss Alson's leadership abilitie's & perimeter shooting!

Dude...I am really tired of Yao Ming and T-Mac.I think Ming could be good but he's about as fragile as my wife.Damn son...throw an elbow...slam with some force.Grow a pair!He is just a big baby.

I say keep Aaron Brooks, Scola, Landry, and Artest and move the rest of the darn team.Maybe hang onto chuckwagon but I think everybody else is expendable.T-Mac did what he did on purpose.Your supposed to go through the team and the proper channels. Not go through the media. What is this?1977 in the bronx with Reggie and Hank going back and forth in the media?Seriously he did that because he feels everybody thinks he is lying when the whole truth of the matter is we just want him to get healthy and stay that way.You can't keep getting hurt like this or your useless to the team. Can he not understand that?I mean...come freaking on !I used to love watching the rockets but now...they suck.Even if they made the playoffs I would only be happy for the 4 or 5 guys I root for.The rest of the team can just take a hike.

I really believe if we ever win a championship with T-Mac on the team...it will be in spite of him and not because of him.He could be a good player but he does not have that killer instinct, that drive where the game is on the line and its come through or fail.He just doesn't have it.He never has.And he is holding us back.
