That dual Jeter auto is sick... that probably takes the cake for best card but who ended up with it or how was that figured out? I guess that wasn't really specified before the break but usually it's whatever play is closet to the top left of the card, etc. Whoever got it did well for sure.

It was specified. If player vs Team, it goes to the Player. If player vs Player, or team vs team, you flip for it. Andrew flipped for it and it went to the Jeter side.

I know I PM'd Ryan with my one thought, but thought I'd post it here too. It would be to limit the number of players removed from teams. I would love to have the Mariners in something like this, but with Griffey, Rodriguez, Johnson, Edgar and Buhner all out, it doesn't feel like it'd be worth it. I understand the M's had stars during this era, but maybe only Griffey and ARod need to be held out. Leaving Johnson (or even some of the other semi-stars for other teams) in would maybe leave some incentive to sell those team lots easier. Whoever did have the M's, I'd love to see what you ended up with ... maybe it's not as little as I would have expected.

With a card like that Jeter auto, sorry to the Rolen guy, but it should automatically go to who paid more for their slot.

Even being the "Rolen guy", I'd have to agree. It was handled as laid out in the rules in the original post, we can certainly adjust those rules going forward.

Yeah, I can't imagine paying $100+ for the Jeter slot and losing that card to someone who paid $16 for theirs. That would really suck. :)

This was include in my comment as well. The Indians weren't as bad as the M's but literally every semi-star Tribe player was removed lol. I'm interest in seeing what Tribe players were hit for the Indians spot.

My feedback;

Same amount of boxes, or even more.
Less player slots to make the team slots more inviting.
Cards with two or more players go to the player on the card who's slot cost the most.
More doubles, with a max of two, of the better boxes.
Start the live break a tad earlier, if possible.

I loved it and will definitely be in again.

This was the Lofton hit from Finest:

Kenny Lofton 1997 Topps Finest Embossed Silver Refractor 283 Braves RARE SP | eBay

Maybe the truest barometer of how we liked the first break is how well the slots sell for the second break. If we run into issues, then maybe we do need to make changes like making the team slots richer and just having them cost more. But if we don't run into trouble... maybe it's good as is.

I would be in again for the Randy Johnson slot. I had to work last night, so I just watched some of the videos. Pretty nice couple of hits. Thanks AIC for breaking and RStadler for putting this together.

Just to play devil's advocate, the player slots do allow the buyer to avoid added hassle if the player has changed teams. For example, there were at least two nicer hits for Juan Gonzalez and Kenny Lofton last night, the Juan Gone's coming as a Tiger and Ranger, and Lofton as a Brave and Indian. The player slot allowed a player collector to get both those cards without having to pick up an entire team slot(s) they may have no interest in, or attempt to work out a deal with the team's "owner."

Perhaps the answer isn't to cut out player slots, but to offer lower prices for teams that may be completely "stripped" due to multiple big name stars like the M's or Indians.

Like I said, just a thought. Either way, I think the break on the whole definitely beat the odds, and it was fun to see some great cards pulled.

I agree here. I won't be in on a team slot structure but will try and work a deal with the Indians, White Sox and Orioles owners for the rights to Belle cards that are hit. Or might just sit out all together. I'm really only in it for the entertainment and the totally rare possibility of a super rare Belle card that hits. As I said originally when this was coming up, I think out of the 32 boxes, I only needed cards out of like 10 that I don't have for Belle ;)

Anyways, I would suggest no matter what we do, that we wait until the cards from this break are mailed out and received so we can all try and wrap our heads around how we did. I have no idea how many Belle's I'm getting and really don't have a clue to what Indians cards I might be getting.
