Escobar has a better bat and a better glove.

Both project to have plus defense, with Escobar maybe being truly elite, neither with much power, but I just trust Andrus on offense more. I think Andrus will hit more, BB more, and probably steal a few more bases.

Alcides has superior defense to Andrus. The power edge might go to Andrus, but not by much. The production ability goes to Alcides, especially when paired with solid hitters around him. He seems to thrive off being around a solid offense, as we saw last season.

Alcides has superior defense to Andrus. The power edge might go to Andrus, but not by much. The production ability goes to Alcides, especially when paired with solid hitters around him. He seems to thrive off being around a solid offense, as we saw last season.

I just don't really trust Alcides' bat, and think Andrus has more upside offensively regardless. I think Andrus will produce well enough to make up for the gap defensively, ultimately making him more valuable, even if it's slightly.
