Congrats to Craig Biggio, John Smoltz, Pedro Martinez and Randy Johnson. Can't wait to see Pedro's speech. Also want to see the full ballot.

Three rookies from the 1989 sets.
I can't wait to see how close to 100% The Big Unit got, and what idiot voters left him off their ballots.
I also thought Piazza would sneak in.

97.1% for him.

Still can't find results on-line but I am sure it's somewhere. Pedro interview about to come up on MLB Network and on-line. HOF web-site seems to have crashed.......

F***ing pissed Piazza missed it lol. 32% of ballots are public at this point and Piazza had about 76% I guess he fell off a bit on the others. God dammit

....he had a good jump so will likely make it within the next couple of years.

I just don't see how Biggio made it and Piazza didn't as really the only two legitimate hitters who had a shot this year. Piazza will get in at some point I think that's pretty clear, but I would like to know the reasoning why some voted Biggio and not Piazza.

Good to know Darin Erstad has an uncle who is a BBWAA member.....;)

Aaron Boone must have two, aside from the walk-off HR he hit at Yankee Stadium the guy has no business being on this list.

I have to believe because Biggio was sooooooo close last year it was much easier to get over the hump. Given Junior is the only shoe-in next year it bodes well for Piazza.

Piazza should get in next year but we'll see, it won't be clear-cut in any case for him but obviously for Grif there won't be question. I mean Biggio's career BA is .281 for someone who was a pure contact hitter that isn't oustanding and Piazza's career BA is .308 with about 440 HRs or 435 whatever the number is I forget. Obviously Biggio had more hits but that's because his position has obviously more longevity than Piazza's you can't compare a second-baseman to a catcher in that regard. It just doesn't make sense to me that he's going to have to come up on the ballot a fourth time. I hate this whole process of a guy moving up by 6-7% each year until he gets in because it should be pretty clear-cut in his case. He was a superstar who dominated the majors during his time and set benchmarks at his position, not for his generation, but for any generation of catchers in the MLB. Makes no sense to me. Not knocking Biggio - he is a HOF player too but Piazza is a HOFer. Period. Why is he coming up on his 4th ballot I just don't understand.

Rant over, lol.

I can't argue with the top three... I'm not a fan of Biggio honestly. Dude played 20 freaking seasons and just inched over the 3,000 hit mark. I feel like that is the only thing getting him in. Almost can't leave out someone who gets 3,000 hits... even if he did play 20 or more seasons.

Clemens & Bonds all did not move up AT ALL. Sadly doesn't bode well for them.

Gary Sheff being left off because they think he used roids? Just curious because he has 500 HRs right?

Career BA of .281 for a contact hitter - not very HOF worthy...

He admitted PED use supplied by the infamous BALCO. He was one of the first of those guys to come clean.
