Not this year. Maybe in a couple of years. The best way to ruin a QB is throw him in behind a crappy OL. LOL.

EricInCT said:The same situation is happening tonight.....Jason Campbell who can't throw the ball down field to save his life, I think he has 70 yards at the half at less than 50% completion and consistently misses his target........but he is in the game and I guarantee you he won't be pulled........so why was Hill? I still can't figure it out especially coming off a bye.
This team won't win more than 4 games the rest of the way with Smith.....the losing starts in a bloodbath at Indy this weekend.....where I see 14 for 33 and 217 yards with 1 TD and 3 INTs......those are generous numbers.
Singletary will definitely be fired by the end of the year and a monkey will take his place.
Maybe Hill is banging his wife?
I just checked....100 yards for Campbell with 1 INT 2 fumbles and 2 sacks.

Alex Smith was a stud in college. I know that doesn't always translate into the NFL, but it does show that the guy has some ability. Look at somebody like Tony Romo. He was at one point behind Drew Henson on the depth chart. He developed during his bench time, and is now a solid starter (although he does have his horrific moments).
Alex Smith had 3 TDs that game compared to Hill's 0, although Smith threw one pick.
Alex Smith averaged over 9 yards per completion, where Hill has under 7 yards/completion on the season.
Alex Smith had a 68.2% completion percentage, compared to Hill's 56.1 season average.
Alex Smith is the better choice. Singletary will not be fired.
The Skins have Todd Collins at backup. He's not a guy you want to have as your full blown starter at this point. If Colt Brennan were not on IR, they would pull Campbell at some point to either try and get something working, groom a future QB, or test what they really got with the college phenom (if not a mix of those).

EricInCT said:How are you comparing season stats to someone who played a half versus someone who played 5 games? ::facepalm::
Here is a stat if you really want to look at hard numbers:
1st and 10 from their own 38 yard line and 51 seconds left going for it obviously on 4th down:
Spike it on first down.
Short Pass incomplete.
Scramble for 5 yards ( GREAT move!)
4th down get called for a delay of game penalty, no play.
5th down throw your first INT of the season.
LOL, I would really want this bust leading my team.....Singletary will be fired when they started 3-0 and lose 7 or 8 of their final 10 games.
Alex Smith vs Texans - 15/22 (68.2%) for 206 yds (9.4 avg), 3 TDs, 1 INT, 0 SacksEricInCT said:Card Magnet said:I like this move. The 49ers obviously need a kick in the ass, and Alex Smith is the thing to do it.
