This was a 10 team, $200 entry league I ran for the last two seasons on CBS Sports.com. It ran flawlessly, but when I lost my last job, I lost contact with most of the owners. I love the way the league plays, so I would like to start it up again for 2009.
1. It is a $50 entry fee and will be a 10-12 team league.
2. This is a head-to-head points-based league, most points scored during the head-to-head match-up after the last baseball game on Sunday, from the first baseball game on Monday, is the winner of the week (game).
3. Payouts are as follows for a $50, 12 team league; 1st place: $230, 2nd: $130, 3rd: $60, 4th: $60, CBS Sports charges $120 for this all-inclusive, completely customizable league, which trust me, is WELL worth it.
4. The draft will be online at 6
M Sunday, March 22 on CBSSports.com, or earlier if we can get the league completely settled.
5. There are two divisions, A.L and N.L., and the top three from each division make the playoffs with the top seed from each division getting a first round bye.
6. You can set your lineups daily up to 30 minutes before the first baseball game is played, or ANY time in advance of any day, and the week (game) starts on Monday.
7. Every day you MUST start a C, 1B, 2B, 3RD, SS, OF, OF, OF, DH (any player from your roster), Relief P, Relief P, and 7 Starting pitchers TOTAL per 7 days (so 0-7 SP a day, but only 7 total through the 7 day week). You receive 0 points for any day you do not have a complete lineup.
8. You can have up to 35 players on your roster, and the draft will be a minimum of 35 rounds, but you don't have to complete the draft if you don't want to, after you are satisfied with your team, you can fill your roster after the draft is complete, with the remaining players available.
9. The league is 23 weeks long, with the next three weeks as the playoffs.
10. You may have only 7 starting pitchers on your team at any given time.
11. Free agents are completely free and limitless, but players that are dropped go through a one day waiver period.
12. Trades are limitless, until the deadline, and are voted on by all owners.
13. You can keep 2 players over into the next season, one pitcher and one hitter.
14. There are 20 offensive point categories and 25 pitching point categories... so everything your players do counts.
I will be holding all league entry fees (PayPal is preferred) and will make the payouts immediately after the league season is complete.
12 teams are needed, so any questions at all, ask here or through PM.
I will send a league invite through e-mail to anyone who is interested in joining or just checking out the league (only if you are serious about joining). So PM me your e-mail address if interested.
Pick your league when you respond in this thread, first come first serve, but only the definites get a spot on the list.
