Not that many choices at this position, but I chose six options anyway. I deliberately left out Snider, as I feel he's the clear #1 guy - who would you put right behind him, ceilingwise?

Feel free to explain your vote if you choose.

Is Dominic Brown considered left or center. I would choose him.

He's RF....at least according to BA's depth chart.

I will take Collier. He may not be the best prospect on the list, but if he hits his prospective ceiling, he will be the best player.

Maybe I should've included Reimold. He just homered for the O's.

You should've included Weglarz.

I voted for LaPorta. I think Lambo might end up being a better hitter for AVG and there are better athletes listed, but LaPorta has the ceiling of a .280's/.400+/.550+ guy.

Considering this isn't a premium position you have to look at the offensive tool set. Right now you have to pick a guy who has proven it in AA, so I'm going with Laporta, although I am a HUGE Lambo fan, he would be my second choice. You have to like the Bruce like comps for Collier though.

I'll see if I can find it, I don't believe it was from BA

If you send me a link from Sickels, I'm gonna crack up.

No Sickels or Klaw me, unless it's intended to be comical.

Not sure if it's entirely credible, but from a cardboard perspective, you have to like it

I believe the two non-Saber Scouting references came after Saber Scouting made the comp, so I'm betting that's where it came from. The author of the Saber Scouting article also said Collier isn't the prospect Bruce(or Hermida) was coming out of high school, but that his ceiling is similar to those two.

I did just hear a report that Collier was very young at the plate. The guy said he was swinging with no authority. Now this is just a poster that is down in Florida on a Philiies prospect site so take it with a grain of salt.

I do still like him a lot though. He might be a little rawer then previously thought however.

I think people need to really examine their definition of the word "ceiling." Does it represent the absolute maximum that a player can become? If that is the case, why is the refinement of a prospects skills even being discussed?

For instance, at this point, Jhoulys Chacin is a better prospect than Michael Ynoa...despite that fact, Ynoa has a higher ceiling because projections show that he profiles as a future #1 starter whereas Chacin is often considered to be a very good #2 at best...although Ynoa will probably never reach that ceiling, he still, at present, has a higher ceiling than Chacin. Chacin has a higher floor because he has more refinement and experience though, but that is a separate issue.

Is any of my logic incorrect?
