85 Topps Tiffany McGwire help? Fake?

So recently I bought an 84 Tiffany Mattingly which turned out to be counterfeit. Now I’m paranoid about all my Topps Tiffany cards.

Does anyone know how to spot a counterfeit McGwire Tiffany RC? Ive attached the photos of mine (with a regular Topps for reference). Is this one legit?

IMO the white and green should be brighter. I’m not sure if it’s just your photo or not. Everything else appears to check out. Best way is to hold it and compare it with a different Tiffany card of the same years set.

Agree that the white card stock isn’t as white as some others but could be the picture. Try and buy a common player and compare the colors.

This might help also. It's good knowledge to have for regular McGwire's but outside of the "*" and the PRTN IN U.S.A. it could be telltale signs for other areas to look for like the fonts, borders ect. I would think the Tiffany's should be the same as the regular versions in those areas also.

I agree the white card stock could be your pic, but another common trait with real Tiffany's is fluff on the edges of the card with the most common being on the left border. I would think that would be hard to replicate.

Yes sir, it’s a great resource for identifying Tiffany vs Regular. Unfortunately not a lot of info of what to look for with Fake Tiffany vs Real Tiffany

I compared my 2 base McGwires and 1 Tiffany. Zoomed in I see the “yellow” transition area in the Tiffany and one of the base. Turns out, one of my base McGwires hits most of the “counterfeit” characteristics, but I’m very confident the Tiffany is authentic.

Also, I don’t think the “non bright white” borders is a characteristic of a counterfeit. In fact, the opposite. Most of my Tiffany cards, although super glossy, aren’t brighter or more vibrant than their regular counterpart. In fact, some seem almost dirty.(See the attached 86 photos.) The regular versions are the ungraded ones.
