Here's my first attempt at using a camera, this 1997 Pin. Field of Vision Duflex Frank Thomas is laying on the cardboard mount they sent it to me in. It measures a whopping 13 1/4 by 19 1/2, this is the first time I have removed it and looked at the back. As you can see it is marked Sample and this photo doesn't do it justice.

What do you have in the way of Pro Set football promos? Perhaps a Steve Young #666 (Pro Set staff member not the 49ers QB, looks like a Dallas Cowboys Prospect card)?

I keep meaning to pick up one of the those Thomas Jumbo samples...I'm always scared to purchase one because I'm afraid it won't make the trip unbent.

I don't have any Pro Set promos since I didn't buy direct from them. Below is one of my favorite Leaf old school football promos .

It was shipped in a standard large manila envelope mounted on a single piece of cardboard. It does have a few scrapes where it was secured at 4 points and has a tiny crease probably from the mailman. I think your concerns are valid.

Here is the score and it is not mine. Probably a $400+ card

I have never seen one and have been looking for years. Not sure one has ever appeared on ebay. When I go to shows, I go through every ryan section and always look at the 90 scores. maybe I will get lucky some day ;).

Don't have a scan available, but I have a 1995 Sportflics Matt Williams Detonator Sample. I had no idea these were as limited as they are (est. 200-300 print run), as I've owned multiple Williams throughout my collecting days. I'll try and find my Williams and get a scan up.

EDIT - here it is:

I think I'd pay $600 just to make my Clark one not stand alone.

I would love to have the Nolan Ryan, hell, I want to bid on a few scrubs and minor stars too. It's hard to find any example of any player available.

cool thread , about pro-set earlier...have one card that is an oddball that is either a simple factory screwup or has been mention it may have been some kind of test print has 1990 NBA hoops #65 michael jordan on front and a pretty badly miscut 1990 pro set reggie white pro bowl back.

have found one other example of hoops/pro-set front back of random players and around 10 or so pro set front/hoops backed examples over the years but no others with any star players on it.

its the prize of my childhood collection and still my favorite card. got it in a couple games of packwars at the flea market my parents ran a booth at on the weekend when i was 10.

Next up are the two 1995 Select Promos i rec'd from Score . These promos have no markings but it is possible that the stats, photo cropping or TM info is different on the back (see 90 Score Winfield above). I have around 50 promos that were not marked by the manufacturer but thought I would post these 2 since we have many Ripken and Griffey ( super collectors ) or what ever you guys choose to call them on this board. Feel free to post the scan of a regular issue where others can determine if these are regular issues sent out to the dealers or have minor differences.

I plan on making a list by year and manufacturer and list each player that I rec'd by type of card and # where if anyone want to know which players were sent out as promos it might help since SCD and Beckett don't list all this info.

Here is the Sample printing plate I got in 1997, it was included with the order info. I'm not sure if these are the same plates that were inserted in the product.

The green on the Griffey looks much brighter on your card, but hard to tell if that is just the scanner.

The big Beckett says that there's only 4 1995 Select Samples (Alomar, Bagwell, ARoid, and a title card), and they're marked as such. Could be just regular base cards they sent out?
