Thats impressive. :o
I have not done anything with my 1985 topps set in about a year, and I am only at 50%. Taking on a set like either of these is quite the task. Boomo saying $300 tops, Tons of stars, HOFers, etc in that set.
1985 topps set = 792 cards
2 stamps, one out, one back are $.88
That is almost $700 right there in postage only if you were to send out and receive every single card back.

Think about how many HOF auto's are in there.

I'm impressed with the deceased autos, too. Quis, Puckett, Bamberger, Martin, donnie moore, Porter are the ones that I readily recognized by looking through a few of the photos in the listing. I'd imagine the collector got them autographed fairly quickly after 1986T was released.

The DeSa would be the toughest of them all, followed by the Martin. Wiggins would be a bit tough as well, considering the timing of the release, as would the Scurry (I've had about 10 Eric Show signed cards for every Scurry I've had). I didn't see a Howser pictured. Among the living, Domingo Ramos is a lot harder to get than Moseby, and Manny Lee and Urbano Lugo can be as tough as Ramos.

Signed 86 Topps cards (along with 85 and 87) tend to always be in demand. I was actually kind of happy when no one bid on the Lugo I had listed recently, as it's the only one I've ever had in stock, and would rather hold onto it than have sold it for cheap.

In 2009 postage, yes... however I calculated about $400 in 1986 postage.

I agree that DeSa is the toughest. He died within a year from the set's release. I bought mine at a show the following year for $20 and I have no idea if its real or not.

Show was an eager signer and his cards are plentiful. Scurrys are around, too. Howser is tough but not as hard as his 1987 issue. I've heard that among the living players Luis Sanchez is toughest; nobody knows where he is.

David Green is a hard one. He didn't play a game in 86 and only 14 games in 87. Now he lives in Nicaragua. You may have had a 2 month window to get it signed in 86. With Domingo Ramos, you had 4 ST's to get him after the 86 Topps was released.

True enough. I was looking at it from a current / my perspective.
