Well, I'm finally admitting to my complete infatuation with Rick Porcello, and in honor of that is my new sig. I have ten total Leaf Limited Porcellos (2 more incoming), and I'm extremely happy with them. I think this card is the biggest sleeper of all the prospect sets this year, because they were supposed to be numbered to just 99...but ended up being left unnumbered upon release. See bottom of this sell sheet for print run info.

But because they were left unnumbered, many people are unaware that these cards live up to their title, as Limited. They hardly sell for more than the Base Elites which are numbered to 1299, which is just amazing to me. I'm very happy with my purchases and with these cards' potential for growth.

No one is going to care what the suspected print run is on those, fact is when his cards go up people won't know they are /99 and think they are just some insert that don't pop up too often and think they are not real rookie cards...

Its about brand recognition and in the prospect world ELites will be seen as rookies before leaf limited will be...

Obviously if he preforms well all of his cards will go up but ROI will be at elites, chromes and AFLACS

Sorry but I don't agree with this. I too have been targeting the Limited autos ... when push comes to shove, SCARCITY trumps brand recognition, and 99 copies of a true "RC" vs. 1299 or some other asinine number for the Elites, AFLAC, etc. will show in the prices if and when Porcello catches fire with actual collectors (not just the prospectors who are hoarding his cards now).

When people search his cards who is going to want encased unnumbered cards that don't really pop up..

It is like if Bowman orginals was unnumbered or something, sterling autos would still out sell them...

This is a point I'd like to emphasize because IMO these are EASILY his best looking auto card. And when it really comes down to it, people want the best looking rookie card they can find.

For an example of this, look at Donruss Elite BASE of David Price from last year. In the very peak of his hype the night he saved the seventh game of the ALCS, I sold a lot of 4 chromes for $30 dlvd, just over $8/card. That same night, single Elite base were selling for $10-$12. This just goes to prove that it's not always about the brand because obviously chrome would be the choice there. When people that don't live on baseball card message boards become the buyers after seeing the guy perform on TV in the majors, it's the best looking FY card that most of them are looking to buy for their collections.

Oh I know. I was responding to Caseys post saying Elites had many more and he threw aflacs in there as many more, only 150 more is not close compared to 1200 more is what I was getting at.
