A good time at the shop today

Today I had to drive to Kentucky for a birthday party. Before the party I decided to stop by a card shop I like to visit when in the area. It's not often that I get to shops due to the drive involved. In any case I looked around and saw a single box of Absolute sitting on the shelf still in the shrink wrap. I asked him if he would be willing to sell me a pack or if it was box sale only. He said he had no problem selling me a single pack from a fresh box. I paid and opted to open the pack there. I pulled a Jason Worilds /299 and this numbered 10/30:

The locals looking on apparently do not collect modern football. A couple of adult guys told me that they couldn't believe that I paid the pack price for just 4 cards. Of course the dealer told me to ignore them and I proceeded to tell them that it's high risk but high reward as well. I explained the rookie cards and the fact that there could be a logo shield 1/1 left in the box.

As I mentioned it's not often that I visit the shop and used that rationalization to grab another pack. I was glad that I did. I pulled a Maurkice Pouncey 24/50 and this...

This is the first logo I have ever pulled from a pack!

I am not going to be sentimental at all about the card. There are other cards I need cash for so I plan to sell it. Are there any Portis collectors on here? I would like to try to get it to one of our own before putting it on the bay.

Card was pulled in Bowling Green. I don't even remember the name of the shop.

Thanks. The timing is great as I have a pair of Manning cards I want to buy. This will not pay for them but it will help out. Is there a database somewhere that will tell me how many shield cards Clinton has had produced over the years from all of the different companies?

Hazeofgreen collects Portis pretty heavily, but I haven't seen him on in some time. I'm sure if it makes it to ebay that he'll find it.

Who was the other big Portis collector we had on our site here? He has a ton of posts but i haven't seen him around lately. Always had the Portis cards in his sig. I cant remember his name off hand but i know he was in the US Army. He posted a pic of himself sitting in one of Saddam's palaces in Iraq.
