After a few slow weeks, I had a great week of mail this time. A lot of the cards I received helped complete years, and rainbows for me and I was very happy to finally pickup some rare 90s cards that had eluded me for so long.
First off, I received an awesome prize package from Eddie (tonsofcommons). As per the contest I was expecting just a numbered card, but Eddie also this great Sports Illustrated Yankees Commemorative Issue along with the 1999 WS Video. This was by far the coolest prize I have ever received, thanks so much Eddie!
Some pickups via trade for my Yankees auto collection.
I have been working on the 2001 Topps Employee Yankees Team set, and was able to put a Dent in the set with this card. Now I need just 10 more cards for the 35 card team set.
2002 Fleer Tradition Glossy #58 #ed/200
2001 Donruss Baseball's Best Bronze #123
(2) 1996 Stadium Club Members Only Parallels
1998 Pacific Omega Red #168
Very cool card, looks much better in person. The red foil on the side has a figure of O'Neill etched into it, kinda hard to see from the scan though.
1996 Select Certified Certified Blue #49
I have had the mirror gold for nearly a year and this was the last card I needed for the complete rainbow.
1991 Panini French Stickers 133
With this card I now have all of O'Neill's cards from 1991!
1994 Stadium Club First Day Issue #74
With this card I now have all of O'Neill's cards from 1994! Now I just need only the 1992 OPC to complete the years from 1991-1994.
2000 Topps MVP Promotion #115
A huge thanks to Magicpapa for the heads up on this card. I had never seen one come up for auction before. Finally one showed up last week and sold for around $20. Unfortunately I was the second highest bidder and very upset that it would be years before another one showed up again (or I would have to turn to Burbank and pay close to $30 for it). But just days later Magicpapa emails me with a link to this card for just $11.50. A very nice price for a rare card like this!
1996 Leaf Signature Platinum Press Proofs #31 (150 print run)
This was a HUGE steal from Sportlots, I paid just $1.00 + $1.25 shipping for it! How much do these usually go for? I have never seen another O'Neill up for auction before.
