I have a few you don't -yet. next time thier in town i'll get you some. check roster.

Anybody you can get would be fantastic, though I can only think of 4 or 5 guys on the roster that have cards right now, unless the minor league sets are out. Wasn't Welker at Hickory last year? I know he didn't pitch great, but I thought they'd at least bump him up to High A.

BTW, I'm heading to Altoona for the first time this season. Any good graphers I should look out for? I'm kinda bummed that Corley isn't with them anymore.

Either Pirates fans are extremely loyal or stupid...

I am guessing I am a little of both! Congrats on the milestone!

P.S. Some of those cards look familiar

Nice job! I got to 200+ different certified O's Auto's and have hit a wall. There are about 10 I am missing and the only newer one is Koji ($100).

Thought about getting into TTM but I will stick to certified.

Brad- Undoubtedly I fall into the loyal and stupid categories. For me, this project has actually served as a nice escape from the atrocious play we've seen over the past 16 years, allowing me to connect with the history of the franchise. I have had some very nice correspondence with ex-Pirates from the early to mid 50's that are among my favorite pieces in my collection.

allstarauctions- I always enjoy seeing your O's collection, and it actually served as the inspiration behind my project. I started out going after only certified autos, but have since expanded it to include TTM and IP autos.

Pff...that's what they WANT you to think. I got hooked on the cheap stuff. Next thing I know I'm picking up all the vintage I can get my hands on to get my fix.

In all seriousness, TTM autographs have expanded my collection far beyond where I could have possibly imagined it ever going. Everyone seems to love the Topps Heritage autos, and for good reason. But I can't see spending $20-30 on the card when I can get a vintage copy of the card signed for the cost of the card and 2 stamps.

You guys are trying to talk me into it :)

I have given it thought before and when I have some free time will revisit it. I was given one of those old Beckett address books about 4-5 years ago and thought about doing it then but didn't. I definitely have plenty of O's commons to get me started.

jeff550- It would definitely be something I'd love to do, simply for the protection a BGS slab offers, but it would get very expensive real fast. If you comment was in terms of authenticity, many of the items in my collection are were either obtained in person or are certified autos, so I have little doubt that the signatures are authentic. Amusingly enough, the only TTM auto that I have any doubt about is Jeff Reboulet.

allstarauction- It's definitely something that can be very rewarding if you have a little spare time on your hands. I know birdsfan85 had a pretty accumulated some pretty nice O's autos TTM before he turned his focus to the Bowman set.

As far as vintage cards go, you can pick up some lots and other vintage fairly cheaply, if you're not as concerned about condition. Late 50's - 60's can be found pretty readily.

I've been able to get just about everyone from the late 50's to mid 60's that are still living, including a large portion of the 1960 WS champs. Picking up early 50's Bowman and Topps released has been where the money has really started to add up.

I finally got my laptop back from Best Buy, so here are some of the scans that were to be included with my last update. The custom cards are still a work in progress as I try to figure out the best way to print them out.

Thanks Dave. I got them both early in Spring Training, before their Chrome autos had been announced. Both returned nice notes thanking me for writing to them and for the extra copies of the customs I had included.
I'm hoping to hit 400 by the end of the year, but my progress has slowed quite a bit since hitting 300.
