A new idea for the transactions forum

I dabble in a bit of everything when it comes to card's (lately I've been more prospect oriented though) so I am strongly against dividing the board's. Also, why would you want to lessen the likelyhood of ever branching out into different pasture's? With the Hof'ers & the prospector's together sharing the same board everyone has a better chance of venturing out & trying something "new" as far as thier hobby routine's go (like trading with a prospector who has a Hof card but doesn't have enough in HOF stuff to complete the trade, so you allow them to "throw-in" some prospect stuff to even out the trade...Next thing you know you're "wheelin' & dealin' " on the trade board's & Ebay like a rabid prospector)! :lol: Why diminish that possibility?

But if I counted right only 4 of 22 threads are veteran orientated. That means that the main forum is still very active with prospects, and the veterans forum becomes easier to trade as the veteran traders do not have to look through all of the prospect threads to find one star/hof thread. . .

Also I will add that partitioning the boards into smaller and smaller subforums is not the direction we are going.

That is great idea, the boards that have all these different subforums just spreads the members around too much and then it seems like the boards aren't very busy and all the info is spread around too much.

I think the 10 vintage collectors can survive without their own board.

However, I do think that there should indeed be a new board called...
"TRANSACTIONS - Prospectors Who Want to Receive Blue-Chip Prospects for Non-Prospect Never Beens"

It's amazing some of the buffoonish transactions proposed by so many of these pocket prospectors.

Here's my two cents.


i left a HOF collectors trade/sell thread stickied for over a month and it barely got over one page. Right now, there are not enough Vet/HOF traders on the board. When more start to sign up, you will see a better variety of threads...

I get what you are all saying, but it will be difficult to convince more non-prospectors to come over when there is no way to avoid them. As I mentioned before, I would post that I do not want any prospects and all I would get offered is prospects.

Well, there is one way to avoid them and that is to stop trading here. I would imagine that is counter to your ultimate goals.

Hmm. It certainly couldn't hurt. I'm sure some morons will still offer prospects but it would be a good way for non-prospectors to find other non-prospector threads.

Probably not as easy as I am thinking it might be, but what about being able to mark non-prospecting trades with a symbol and then having the ability to sort threads by those symbols so I can get all of the non-prospecting trades in a row?

Not for nothing, but that indicates to me you simply have things not many people here want. This board is a prospectors board predominantly, there is no way getting around that. However, I've seen many of vintage offerings get much attention, it just depends on what your trading.

As already mentioned, I just stopped trading. I made a lot of trades on the old board, but I don't prospect, so I haven't made any trades on here and I just stopped trying. I have purchased cards from a few members, but I don't even bother attempting to trade.

I tried to get into prospecting for a very, very brief time, but it's truly not for me. :lol: I guess I just don't have the time and patience to dedicate to it.

Anyway, the boards are great and much better than what we had in every aspect besides trading.

I voted no. For people who deal in both, but only collect one of them, it would be too difficult for them to move anything.

If you really want to trade, but can't get it done here, trade elsewhere or trade what the people want. This is one of the best forums out there, but the trading leaves much to be desired.

Yes, but we would make the forum so people like you would start trading again. I agree it is near impossible to trade on these boards, but hopefully a new subforum could help that.

Gilmore has killed the idea of a subboard. At this point trying to come up with solutions that work for us and for the administrators of the board is the best route.

Well I tend to get lots of replies on other forums, so I have what veteran collectors want.
