It's a set I know that many are interested in to a degree, and it's definitely shown it holds its value.

Recent sales:

Aaron 9.5: $505 (BO)
Ott: $230, $200 (BIN)
Schmidt: $237

I've never seen Ott's or Schmidt's go that high, but because the set cooled for a short time, people stopped listing, and the prices have spiked again. I still believe this set offers serious investment potential (especially when bought at the right times.)

about a month or so ago, i was about to pick up 4 extra mannys at what i considered to be a good price.

i think the cards are awesome, and nothing will touch those old 500 HR APOH's

Im looking foward to picking up a Sheffield Mets :)

The only annoying thing is that the players from the last couple of seasons (Manny, Thome and Thomas) are not limited to /350 like the earlier cards.

I found out the hard way. In the beginning I was loading up on Thome and Thomas assuming that they would dry up, and then found out why it never seemed to happen (if anyone is looking for a copy, please pm me.) They were 1 per case the last couple of seasons. Everyone before that was /350.

Mannys at $25 is a good buy, imo

I'm glad I got finished when I did..

Now I just need them to make an A-Rod, Bonds, and now a Sheffield..

Good luck guys and when you put them all together, they do look sweet!!

I love this set, but higher prices and more competition are not what I need.

I am about at the halfway point on the set and can't wait to be able to finish it off one day. I that I had a couple of more than I do, but I must've sold or traded them a couple of years ago. I have 11 currently. I have missed out on an opportunity to pick up Eddie Murray and Reggie Jackson. I know I am normally anti Burbank, but if I had the money, I would buy the Reggie Jackson and Ernie Banks cards they have for the set.

If I see any at a decent price, I will pick them up for other members who might need them for their set..

Very nice Pin. I remember seeing you complete your set. While I only have 11, I can't help but look at them from time to time. It is an amazing looking set. I am very much looking forward to the Sheffield when it comes out.

i think these are great cards to add to a Private collection or to get the whole set. But also, I think with the money fee that players charge to sign at autograph shows. THESE ARE THEEE items to get signed. I was thinkin of picking up a Reggie, Schmidt, Mays , Aaron , etc and a Thomas and Manny for when they do signings. But as far as they go, I already have the 1 that I was born to own, and i never get tired of showing it off....

The one on top is the Official autographed version #/'d out of 25 and the one on the bottom is one i had signed a private signing.

These are some pretty sweet cards. I did get around to picking up foxx and ott. Doing the set is probably too deep for my pockets but I'll pick them up when I can. I was also a bit stunned by the final price of the schmidt and ott lately. Nice flip, btw. :)

It's a great set. Unfortunately due to tight financial situation I've had to get rid of all the one's I had (with the exception of Thomas and Thome.) Maybe one day I'll be able to get back in. Time will tell. Still the best looking, best overall GU set ever IMO.
