I recently purchased a Taijuan Walker autograph on ebay from ebay member, "gbpackerfan".

Got the card today in a bubble mailer and he included a pack of 2011 Topps Debut. Totally unexpected and just awesome so if "gbpackerfan" you're here on FCB you're an awesome dude! Thanks man! :D

Pulled a Jameson Taillon Blue /309 too ;)

That is an amazing gesture...now I wonder how many people are going to try and take advantage of him and order cards just to get some packs.

Take advantage or become repeat buyers. That thought didn't even pop into my head but now that you said it. What a great way to get someone to buy from you again and if they did so based on their expectation of getting a $2.50 pack of cards with their purchase for free.

Unless seller is going to keep doing it, this has the potential to backfire. Sure, he'll get a temporary bump from people looking to get a free pack, but he'll have a lot of unhappy customers if they came to his auctions expecting a free pack.

Nothing wrong with what he's doing... kudos to him for a nice gesture. But if it's a marketing scheme, all I can say is that eBay buyers can be a difficult bunch.

It would be hilarious to read about someone complaining that a seller didn't include a pack of cards because the buyer read on a message board that the seller had done it for someone else.

Hilarious, unreasonable, and yet... I would not be surprised a bit to see a buyer react that way.

You are a very reasonable buyer. Last month, I bought a Peyton Manning 2010 UD Exquisite. However, when I received the card, I decided that it wasn't really 'Exquisite'. Very nice? Certainly. Outstanding? Perhaps. Exquisite? Not really. So, I sent the seller a sternly worded email and gave him all 1s on his DSRs.
