I just go for 1 copy of each card. That said, if a card shows up for much less than it would normally sell for then I'll grab it to sell or trade down the road. Lately I haven't been buying duplicates because now I have so many it isn't even funny. I have over 5000 dupes of which 1218 are different and they are just taking up space.

I would love to be able to pick up a copy of every card. With all of the 1/1s, that not very likely. I do have a lot of duplication, especially in my Pete Rose collection. I don't like hitting a BIN of $1.00 and then paying $3 shipping, so I buy lots and end up getting some duplication along with a card I want/need. Dupes don't bother me in the slightest.

One of each. I believe hoarding cards, especially rare ones, when you know there are other collectors of the same guy, is a slap in the face to the rest of the community.
This really only applies though to guys that have a reasonable finite amount of cards to collect.

i try just getting one card not into dupes. not trying to get every card. like 90's rarer and low print runs. maybe 1/1's some autos.
