It was so nice of Lou to give Soriano a night off tonight and let Sam Fuld start and hit leadoff. Not only did he see more pitches in his 5 at bats compared to 5 games for Soriano, he also had 2 hits and a walk. Sam threw out a runner at the plate and made a diving catch. I am sure Lou will have Soriano batting leadoff again tomorrow night as the Cubs enter an 11 game homestand with a great chance to save the season. I hate Soriano and as long as he plays the way he has been, we will continue to suck.

Nothing like a .296 OBP in the leadoff hole. And you get to have him for 5 more years at $18m/year with a full no-trade clause. Even though he hasn't done that well when placed in a spot other than the leadoff spot, I agree that Lou should stick him at another spot for a month and see what happens. Whoever replaces him at leadoff can't do much worse.

Thank goodness the Sox have Podsednik! I bet we both wanted Abreu before the season.

Cubs suck. Hate Sori. Great to see Lou get tossed. Classy guy.

As opposed to having a drunk for a manager.

At this point, Soriano should be batting 6th or 7th.

That`s supposed to bother me? He manages at a place called BUSCH Stadium, and in the city that is the home of Anheuser Busch! Of course he partakes in some boozin! That`s what the Midwest is all about. All the fatass Cub fans should know that. A Cub fan making fun of someone for drinking is the pot calling the kettle black now isn`t it? lol. Have you bothered to look around the stands at Wrigley lately? A bunch of fat, hairy men and women shoving bratwurst down their cholesterol lined throat. If he`s a drunk, that`s fine. He`s OUR WORLD SERIES WINNING drunk. And we`ll take that over a hot head who`s never going to bring anything more than a Central Division title to the city. World Series` trumps all. How many do the Cubbies have compared to the Cardinals? Learn how to read, look it up, then get back to me.

Ya know Sam, from posting in the Morning Thread, I had thought you were cool.
When did you suddenly become a typical dick-hole Cardinals fan?

Being drunk is fine, but getting behind the wheel after being drunk isn't. I'm not pointing fingers at Tony Larussa, he's a good coach, and I would feel the same way if Lou Piniella was arrested for DUI

It was sure nice to have Soriano back today 0 for 5 and saw 14 pitches. He sucks.
