So I have been inspired many times to purchase a given item. Recently I have been selling junk GU and buying significant Autos, ie my Ali on a Title Fight Ticket. Anyway bmp1 got me searching, viewtopic.php?f=2&t=112260&hilit=Ruth+Cut and I figured, "sure I can come up with $3K. Well I found an ungraded ticket, talked with the seller back and forth. I told him I could send to PSA and he offered a full refund if it came back fake. I decided I should pay the $8 to PSA/DNA for a quick response and a few hours later "likely authentic". So I bought and paid for the ticket, Fedex arrived the day before Thanksgiving and I Fedex to PSA/DNA within 1 hour. Fast forward to Thursday last week, the PSA/DNA website show "Authentic", so I had to wait for its arrival.

I should say that with shipping to/from PSA/DNA, Ruth grading fee, express autograph fee it ran me $375, so when buying a big name auto consider that amount into the price.

Here is the auction link for those interested in the price, [ebay:o88qj3vd]130457473207[/ebay:o88qj3vd]

As for the importance of the ticket. 10 May 1928 versus Cleveland, Ruth goes 1-2, 2 BBs, and HR 425!

Hope you enjoy, I will!

Awesome, glad the seller agreed for a refund if it came back bad. That way it was a no lose situation for you. I am surprised some card company didn't hit it.

$1 dollar for a ticket in 1928 and now in 2010 it's worth $1075 because someone scribbled on it. :D Fantastic pick-up, Congrats!

Awesome card at an awesome price.

If Topps stuck that sucker in a cut auto card and labelled it a 1/1, it would be worth ten grand!

And back then you could at see the game. Pretty sure that ticket's no longer useful.
