I have spoken to Scott (MaineMule) before and I plan on starting to do some TTMing again. I will mainly use cards, but for some players I will use ROMLBs.

My question, when sending a card, are PWEs fine or should I use bubble mailers or what? When I was a kid/teenager and sent, I always just used PWEs and everything worked fine. It's been like 18 years since I sent my last TTM though.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Very cool. That's how I did it when I was younger. A card (no sleeve or top loader), a SASE, and a letter. Just wanted to make sure that was still standard protocol. :D

...howdy ho Joe!!

Also, make sure to use for your return SASE a self-sealer envelope (peal and seal) and not an envelope that the sender has to lick ::facepalm::

Good luck, I am on scn and can help you with addys if you'd like.

You could get someone's DNA and create a new player!

......remember the Seinfeld episode when Susan dies from licking the "cheap" wedding invitations?? Wouldn't want Joe to be responsible for the untimely demise of our baseball heroes...

Thanks a million for the tip Scott. That is awesome advice on the envelope. I never even thought about that.

...no probelmo Joe!!

They may cost a few pennies more than regular envelopes but makes good sense to me to use them.

Who you going after TMM?

Scott- I plan on starting with some Reds and Bengals this year. I am also thinking about sending a baseball to Doerr and Dave Nicholson. I would love to TTM some of the older Reds (Concepcion, Perez, Foster, Bench, et al), I just don't know if any of them sign TTM or not.

I lucked out with this guy back in May but I've not seen any returns from him lately. Heard he is now charging.

Bench also charges and I think it's on the order of $40.

Perez does sign once in a while c/o the Marlins.

Sparky is a great signer, albeit his sig is getting sloppy.

I'd love Concepcion too but have not seen any returns from him.

Thanks for the heads up Scott. How much does Pete charge? I wouldn't mind adding some more autos to the collection. Great Pete autos by the way. ;)

I will definitely try Perez c/o the Marlins. Sparky would be awesome.

I only have 2 so far, but I have been wanting to put together a set of autographed baseballs from the Big Red Machine. I only have Rose and Griffey Sr. so far. Do players generally do inscriptions if you ask or should I not even bother?

I'm sorry I cannot find his fee. I sent c/o "Field of Dreams" in Las Vegas.

Players some time do include a requested inscription. I usually do not ask though.

You should at a minimum get the "free" access to Sports Collectors.net. That's all I have at this time. I also use "The Bench" and just google search "Player Name" and TTM for information about potential players to send to.

Have fun!!
