Actually the face shooting thing is not entirely true: he shot him in the arm/shoulder and it ricocheted to the face according to what I read. ;)

No this is a whole seperate shooting from back in 2007 in Florida. 2 men were shot in a car 1 in the head & one in the arm. So now he's being looked at in 4 seperate shootings. Odin murder, double homicide in Boston in 2012, the man he's being sued by for shooting in the arm/face & now attempted murder case in Florida in 2007..... Wow

I think the number of NFL players arrested since the SB is at 32.

And IDK if that counts the Jets undrafted rookie charged with "Attempted Murder" after a bar fight or the Niners LB they're considering charging for assault after a frackus about car keys...

I don't know if that 32 figure represents active roster players or 53-man roster (or something else). but the NFL arrest rate is actually pretty darn close to the U.S. population at large. The FBI reports the year 2009 arrest rate was 4,478.0 arrests per 100,000 inhabitants of the total estimated United States population. Since the figure is using entire population then it's including infants and geriatric wards. This is roughly 4.48% of the population arrested during an entire year. We have 32 NFLers arrested in the last 5 months. This is an annual pace of 77 arrests. If we take 77 arrests divided out just by the number of active roster spots (46 spots times 32 teams) we get 0.0523 or 5.23%. If we use 53-man roster then we get 4.54%, nearly identical to the entire U.S. population. That figure might even be well below the NFL age demographic in the male U.S. population as a whole. Athletes just happen to make the news because nobody really cares is Joe Blow gets caught snorting rails in the back of a cocktail lounge.

The arrests include undrafted free agent rookies this year. Current rosters are sitting at 80+ players so that also factors into the number of players arrested and considered "in the NFL." I would be curious to see how this rate compares to those who have graduated/attended 4 year universities.

Hernandez- letter to patriots before the 2010 draft

"I ask you to trust me when I say you have absolutely nothing to worry about when it comes to me and the use of recreational drugs," Hernandez wrote on the letterhead of the agency that represented him, Athletes First. "I have set very high goals for myself in the NFL and am focused 100 percent on achieving those goals."

He never said anything about selling drugs, his collection of guns, fighting, assassinations or murdering people in his letter.

Ernest Wallace, said Hernandez admitted shooting semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.

According to the document, filed in court by police in Miramar, Fla., where Wallace has a home, Ortiz explained to police that Hernandez picked up Lloyd, then headed toward his home in North Attleboro, Mass. Along the way, Hernandez told Lloyd that he had been "chilling" with people he had a problem with. (This is consistent with the details laid out by the prosecution when Hernandez was charged with murder.) Ortiz said the two men shook hands, but shortly thereafter the car stopped and everyone but Ortiz got out to urinate. Ortiz said he then heard gunshots. Hernandez and Wallace got back inside the car, Lloyd did not, and the vehicle sped away without him.

I'm gonna call BS on Mr. Wallace here. It's a little too convenient that he was taking a whiz when Lloyd got killed.

Ortiz is the one who said everyone got out of the car except him to urinate that's when he heard gun shots and only Wallace & Hernandez came back to the car not Odin Lloyd cause he was dead. So it was either Hernandez or Wallace who pulled the trigger according to Ortiz & Wallace claims Hernandez admits to pulling to trigger. Either way he's screwed

The figure is up to 38 now and does include the 80 Player pre-Camp roster. But even though percentages hold up for the year, this figure is only for about 5 months. Now incident rate slows way down as Camps and such open up, as the "structure" keeps players busy, but even with a slight amount of incidents, the Overall ratio is gonna be way over the 5% or so you're talking about...

Panini subs Aaron Hernandez stickers with Tim Tebow of New England Patriots - ESPN Boston

Gives an idea of the print run for their sticker set, but wonder what they'll do with the leftover Hernandez auto stickers/memorabilia

Would it have been better to not replace Hernandez in upcoming sets and just leave Tebow off the checklist? He'll be what, a 3rd, 4th string TE?

A very popular athlete with a national following.
