Werth didn't debut until 2002 with the Blue Jays. I remember having his 1997 Bowman Chrome RC back in 1998, and it was a big card (booked for $8-$10), having no idea who he was, and then not hearing about him again until he with with the Phillies. He really took forever to reach his potential.
