this is such a tired statement. Good investors have made tons of pitchers. For every pitcher whose arm turns to jello their is a power hitter who was supposed to crush off speed pitches and not strikeout one in every 3-4 AB's.

Hense why I'd rather buy Morrison than Stanton right now.

ie. Brandon Wood

Agreed, there is a laundry list of hitters that never make it and cost their investors BIG $$, ALA Chris parmelee, Billy Rowell, Ryan Harvey, Delmon young, Rickie weeks, etc etc etc

I look for guys who know the strikezone, that's why I don't buy some of the upper tear prospects due to that.

Indians Re-Sign Anthony Reyes, Adam Miller
By Zach Links [December 13 at 2:17pm CST]

The Indians have announced via press release that they have re-signed right-handed pitchers Anthony Reyes and Adam Miller to minor league deals after non-tendering them yesterday.

In 2009, Reyes turned in a 6.57 ERA in eight starts before his injured right elbow, which required surgery, shut him down for the year.

Miller, meanwhile, did not pitch last season as he underwent surgery on his right long finger for the third time. The 25-year-old was once one of the top prospects in the Tribe's system, having been their supplemental choice (31st overall) in the 2003 draft.

People who bought Billy Rowell were silly anyway. He was way too high risk. You look for guys who don't necessarily have superstar potential but are nice solid bets to make the majors. Their first two weeks are usually red hot because pitcher don't know there holes yet. I find high-risk, high-reward pitchers to be cheaper than high-risk hitters. The only problem with high-risk pitchers is that they're even higher-risk than Billy Rowell. And in Risk South America is the best continent.

My best prospecting job so far has been with Daniel Murphy. Pete Rose he ain't, but that's how I sold him.
