Additional AFLAC Autographs and Base Set Changes Made to BDP

ADDITIONAL AFLAC ALL-AMERICAN AUTOGRAPHS & ENHANCED PROSPECTS CHECKLIST HIGHLIGHT BOWMAN DRAFT

On the heels of announcing 9 different Autographed AFLAC High School All-American cards including # 3 Draft Pick Donovan Tate would be in the upcoming 2009 Bowman Draft Picks & Prospects Baseball release, Topps has added 4 more names to the list.

Also, Topps announces it has enhanced the prospect checklist with some new top additions.

Overall, it's a slight improvement. I give them props for the effort, but the base set still has a long way to go.

Doesn't look like it. I hope they'll add Tate at the very least, but who knows.

I do as well. Make your voice heard here, and hopefully they will. At least they added one of your two main Cubbies.

It's no secret I would love to see them still add Brett Jackson to the Auto set (even the base checklist) and I doubt that will happen until 2010 Bowman w/ Chrome, but this still has some tweaking needed. I know that it has been stated many times.

One other thing I find interesting is the addition of Jaff Decker to the prospect set.

He was drafted in 2008.

Make one great big bowman set, with chrome, of everybody. Draft picks, rookies, prospects, take out the vets, WBC, and all that garbage.

Price goes up, but I rather bust something like that than 3 different products where I can pull the same auto guy in all 3!

I'm not in favor of this, exactly, but as a spin off:

I would be in favor of three Bowman releases per year. Bowman w/Chrome, Bowman Chrome and Bowman Sterling.

I would raise the price point of Chrome so we have three definite prices, then there's a Bowman product for everyone.

I would of course still love to see Brody Colvin on the autograph checklist.


Edit: I forgot Jarred Cosart. If Freeman is going to be in it, then he can be in it too.

I hope so. These changes did not sway my thinking, though.

And even if they did, I'd be buying wax to sit on and eventually flip, not to bust.

22+ years of disappointing pulls finally made me see the light in that regard.

The thing I am disappointed about most is the lack of Texas Rangers in the product. The only Rangers prospect in the whole product is the Neil Ramirez Aflac Auto. I guess this is one product I do not have to even consider busting!!!
