Why not trade him for a good young prospect and then use the money to get someone like hamilton over the winter?

As a Sox fan, I really dont want to see him go. Felt the same way about Youkilis as well.

Let him go for free if they have too. Clear he doesn't like being a Red Sox, is way over paid for his production. Is a big baby crying about everything. Use money on J Ham over winter. Jacoby wants out, so deal him for something decent.

Adrian Gonzalez is a God blamer!

After not making the post season in 2011:

Reporter 1: Describe your mood, is it shock, sad, has it set in?

Gonzalez: I'm a firm believer that god has a plan and it wasn't in his plan for us to move forward."

Reporter 2: Is there anything that you would put your finger on that did'nt work out?

Gonzalez: God didn't have it in the cards.

It's easier to blame a mythical person than accept responsibility for one's actions alot of times

He was hurt. He is now healthy and is mashing. There is no reason to think he will not continue to mash. A huge percentage of players are put on waivers just to test the market. Boston hasn't been in sell mode and they have an insane amount of money coming off the books this year so they dont really even NEED to dump him.

Since I started typing this post Josh Beckett got claimed, too. I still believe in him but wouldn't defend him like I just did Gonzo. Would be interesting/not shocking to see him go.

they should just let Beckett walk.. he's more than worn out his welcome in Boston so if someone wants to take on his contract more power to them.

Looks like it was the Dodgers also on Beckett.

What a gift that would be if that goes through, would cone down to Beckett and his 10/5 veto ability. But with all the drama in Boston would not surprise me if he took it.

Funny tweet I just saw.

If Dodgers take Beckett, Magic Johnson will be more popular in Boston than Larry Bird

Losing Gonzalez to shed Beckett's contract would really upset me. Also it would really undermine the waiver system which wouldn't be doing either team a favor in potential future deals. Ugh.

Beckett, Gonzo, Crawford, and Punto are the names that are on the move!

So, should the Red sox pony up $100 million and get big time prospects back? Or hit the DO OVER button, offer zero $, and get zero prospects back?
